Hello, My washing machine lets off a foul odor, my laundry room only has this smell when washing machine is operating. My husband says it is coming from a grill in the back, which is in the center. I have always dumped the remaining water from the dispenser then leave it and the washer door open when not in use and follow manufacturers advice using Affresh in the cleaning cycle when washer calls for it. Would you be able to tell me what is causing this foul odor and how I can eliminate it? Thank you! Donna

Hello Steve, Thank you for the question. Checking the model number provided, it does not list a Drain Plug. On the Drain Pump its self there is a "knob" that can be rotated to unscrew and remove to clean the filter for the pump. We hope this helps!

I continually get a e01 f03 error on this model even after repair man worked on it.
For model number MHW5500FC1
PartSelect logo
Hi Betty, Thank you for your question. The E01-F03 error code indicates that the washer cannot sense the water level in the washer. This may be caused by a faulty pressure sensor switch or a clogged pressure switch hose, the wiring or the electronic control board. When this code appears the washer door is locked. Check the pressure switch and hose first as this is usually the cause. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Door locked because of faulty water level switch
First some background. The door locked up the first time when appliance was less than one year old. The "Maytag Repairman" finally succeeded in getting the door open after propping up the front of the machine and fumbling around underneath for a period of time and then assured me the problem was solved. The problem recurred less than a year later, and I called another repairman who seemed to have an easier time of it, and charged $293.42 to replace the water level switch. About six months later the same problem recurred and I took the cover off the top of the machine and found there a booklet "For Service Technician's Use Only". VERY HELPFUL. Told how extremely easy it was to unlock door - took about five seconds. Replacing the switch itself involved pulling one tubing off and disconnecting one elec connection from old switch and replacing on new switch. Total cost $50 plus a few dollars for shipping.
