I took the old one out and put the new one in. I want to take this time to tell you that I have repaired a few of my appliances with very little difficulty and a much lower price than Kitchen Aid charges. Our Microwave Vent Grill was broken - and since I was ordering online, I figured I'd get the two filters as well. The Vent Grill was fairly easy to install. It was a little tricky getting it to fit in, but once in, it was just a matter of screwing in at the top.
