nobs that hold drawer cover on snapped off
I took all the food out and the shelves above the area. The end cap was a piece of cake to remove, only two screws to take out, and installing the new ones was very easy. The reason it took so much time is because I thoroughly cleaned the fridge at the same time.

Installed parts under 15 minutes, Frig kicked in and frig has been working beautiful. ice maker would not cycle. coating on ice tray was flaking
Since I had more than one issue, I decided to replace the entire ice maker. All I needed was a nut driver and it took 5 minutes. Three hex screws and unplug the wire harness and the whole unit came out. I changed the harness over and installed the new unit. I left for work and came home to ICE. It was Great!!!

"hinge" for the deli tray had broken off
After one attempt to use super glue failed, obtained the part (shelf support). Had to remove drawers and a shelf to get to the support. Two hex screws held in place. No problems, a little touchy to put the lid back on, but all in all a simple repair. Didn't have instructions - didn't need them - it was straight forward.

Broken pin that holds the pantry flip door
Removed large lower drawer, removed contents from the lower shelf, removed the two produce drawers, removed glass shelf. At that point you will be able to remove the three screws from the left side pantry end cap. A slight upward and forward motion will release the side pantry end cap once the screws are removed. Once the side pantry end cap is removed, two screws will removed the drawer track. Note: you will have to slide the drawer track one way or the other to align a small hole to find and remove the hidden screws. The process was reversed to install the drawer track and side pantry end cap, etc. The actual removal and installation of the new side pantry end cap took less than 10 minutes. I was very pleased with the ease of ordering and speedy delivery of the part from PartSelect.com

Fridge died overnight - replaced overload cap & relay - working again
initial research suggested that relay is common failure point -opened back panel and found that relay was "truly smoked" - black soot came out when I removed it and shook it also checked that the compressor itself wasnt damaged using the resistance check across pins and also from pin to outer cover - determined that the compressor seemed OK and fault likely isolated to relay - - overload cap seemed to be ok - but decided to replace entire unit (relay and cap) - ordered on partselect.com - video showing how easy repair was very helpful - replaced it - and DONE!

Ice maker was producing large wet clumps
1. Viewed the video furnished (very helpful) 2. Turned off circuit breaker (avoids having to move the refrigerator), took my chances and left the water on 3. Removed the ice bin 4. Removed bottom retention screw, loosened the top two screws 5. Lifted the old ice maker free of top two screws 6. Used the bright flashlight to see how to release the rear electrical connection 7. Placed old unit on toweling, removed the electrical harness, the bail and the lower retention offset bracket (needed because the Kenmore's bottom retention is toward the center of the ice maker) and reinstalled them on new unit, taking care to maintain the original harness clip method 8. Carried the new unit to the refrig and installed the rear harness connector, then lifted it to mount on the top screws, forced it down to correct position, installed lower screw and tightened all three. 9. Placed bail in 'Operate' position, Installed bin and turned on the power. 10. Next morning, success!

Broken pin
The right hand pin that holds the liftable clear door over the lowest drawer broke. It is a molded piece, so the whole right end cap had to be replaced. The large lower drawer, the two smaller drawers above it and the glass divider/shelf all had to be taken out. The end cap was removed using a 1/4" allen wrench hand driver, and the whole assembly had to be angle out at abour 45 degrees to release a connect temperature control slide from a slot in the back of the refrigerator (I was not expecting that, but it was not hard to free it). Several pieces had to be removed from the orginal end cap and placed in the same position on the new unit. I did this without looking at any instructions (of course), and it took a few minutes to figure out how to get it apart. Previewing instructions would not be a bad idea for those who don't want to figure out the puzzle. Reassembly was easy, and I then just reversed the process to put the fully assembled unit in its' place, put the drawers and shelf in and reattach the liftable door to the pin.

Unit hummed, buzzed, and compressor did not run
You just take the back panel off (8 screws with hex heads), disconnect one wire harness, pull off the relay, and push on the new one. Easy peasy. Getting the wires off was the only tricky part, they clip in place so you have to pry the retaining clip loose. Unfortunately, it turns out our compressor is shot so replacing the relay did not fix the problem.

A buzzing noise coming from compressor area lasting 8-10 seconds followed by a click.
My 8 year old Maytag side-by-side started having a buzzing sound coming from the compressor area that lasted around 8 to 10 seconds which was followed by a "click" sound. It would repeat every 3 minutes or so. From what I read, the Overload/Relay with Start Capacitor was the likely culprit. I got it replaced tonight but unfortunately, the same problem is occurring. The downside is I likely have a bad compressor (not worth replacing after cost of parts and labor) and wasted $60 on the Overload/Relay with Start Capacitor. Partselect's service though I would say is top notch. I received the part within two days of placing the order and my order confirmation email even had a link to a youtube video detailing the installation. That was very helpful. I just wish I was looking at a $60 fix vs a grand for a new fridge! Oh well, live and learn....and no more Maytag.

Ice maker was leaking into the cube tray
Once I received the new icemaker, I removed the old one by loosening the two upper screws and removing the lower. The wire connector came out easily. The wire and the bale from the old unit had to be transferred to the new unit. Then the new unit was reinstalled and the wire plugged back in. It took several hours for the cubes to begin dropping.
