broken tray rail
this was an easy repair. most of the work involved emptying the regrigerator so the shelf bracket could be removed and replaced. acual repair only took 10 minutes. Next time I clean the erfrigeratoe I will be more carefull with the shelves so nothing gets broken. Orereing from your web site was very easy, and having the model number, I'm sure, also helped. very fast delivery on the part I needed

Water Leaking from Ice Maker freezing in the bucket as a solid mass
The Amana's Ice Maker mounted against the back wall. I'm a 61 year old female that ordered this to help my aging parents. The wire harness only unplugged from the Ice Maker and was hard wired to the Frig. I had to "blindly" try to depress and release the harness clip and that took most of the time. When putting in the new ice maker, I noticed that the opening for the fill tube was now against the wall and not to the back. So, I had to disconnect it again. I found that it is also made for a side right fill by cutting out a perforated tab. Just to make sure there wasn't an overflow out of the other round hole, I used silver tape to plug the hole. It took two hours after plugging back in the frig and turning on the water supply before it made ice.

Icemaker stopped making ice
Ordered replacement icemaker from PartSelect.com. Upon receipt of part installed part as per the online video. All went well. Whirlpool rep. stated that the icemake works well when the freezer temp. is set at 10 degrees or less.It took appreximately 24 hrs.for the icemaker to fill the bucket with fresh ice. It would hace cost approximately $230.00 or more if I had called a Service rep. to do the job. So I elected to do it myself.

ice maker
well, my problem was the dual water valve. I check the two water valve connectors, one was good ( yellow ) and the other connector (brown) was bad. I tested them both with an ohms meter, of course all power was off. I think when ever there's a problem with not receiving ICE this should be done before replacing the ice-maker for there's a lot of things going on in this area. The Brown Connector releases the water into the ice-tray (that tested Bad with a reading of 257 from ohms meter, and the yellow had a sound from ohms for full contact a good reading. The brown valve was bad.

crisper shelf shattered.
It took one minute to put the shelf in. The best part was the speed with which the part arrived. I also want to compliment the operator I dealt with. She was very helpful.

Crisper rail had a crack and the the center frame was broken.
Removed crisper drawers and the crisper frame. Then removed the glass shelf from the frame and also the plastic front piece and the metal rod that adds stability to the frame. Those last two items required a screw driver and pliers. Inserted the metal bar into the new frame, popped on the front piece, and installed frame in frig. Put in center rail, then glass top, and then put in crisper drawers.

Broken pantry end cap
The repair was straight-forward once the pantry drawer and lower shelves were emptied and removed - remove the mounting screws, replace the broken end cap with the new part. It took me several minutes to reattach everything. It took me longer to clean up all the old food spills under the pantry drawer.

Ice maker stopped working. Turned out a connection on the heating bar shorted out.
Pulled the plug on the refrig. ( This is important since the heating bar on the bottom of the ice maker could come on as soon as you plug it in and burn your hand ). Removed the ice bin to get it out of the way and then removed the 1/4" hex screw from the support bracket under the old ice maker ( don't lose it ). Pushed up on the old ice maker to dislodge it from the 2 support clips on the top of the ice maker. Squeezed both sides of the wire harness plug and pulled it out and removed the old ice maker. Removed the wire harness and level bar from the old ice maker and installed them on the new ice maker. Plugged the ice maker wire harness into the female receptacle in the freezer. Popped the ice maker in to the top support clips making sure the rubber water chute from the refrig. was in place in the round ice maker receptacle. Plugged bak in the refrig. and I was getting ice in about 2 hours. Working fine after 1 week producing plenty of ice. RussK---
