Upper oven shut down after reaching temperature
The hardest part was deciding if this part would fix the problem. The upper oven became unusable. Both elements worked fine until reaching temperature. The oven would not come back on after that. I took two screws out. Then I pulled the wires out and unsnapped the coupling. The install was reverse. I just snapped the coupling in place and replaced the two screws. All works fine now. Saved a couple thousand as wife was prepared to buy a new one.

Replace lower bake element
Remove two screws at back of oven. Pull the element out, remove the electrical slide connectors. If the electrical wires fall back through the openings, pull the range out from the wall to access the back..remove the small cover panel at the lower left and you will have full access to the connectors. Put the new element in place, connect the electrical connectors and replace the securing screws. Replace the back cover panel if you removed it. Job finished.

The left rear burner had stopped heating.
1. I ordered a replacement heater element from Parts Select, which arrived in just 3 days at my home. 2. I turned off the main circuit breaker to the range. 3. There are two small sheet metal screws inside the top left and right side of the oven door frame which need to be removed first in order to lift and remove the burner top from the range. 4. After lifting and pulling the burner top toward me about 6 inches, I unplugged the left and right burner assembly wiring harness connectors. 5. I lifted the burner top assembly off the stove and turned it upside down an a table. 6. There are six sheet metal screws that need to be removed to allow the sheet metal panel holding the heater assemblies to be lifted off and then also set upside down on a table top. All five burner elements are now visible. 7. Disconnect the slip-on electrical connectors to the specific heater assembly that is defective. 8. Unscrew the three small sheet metal screws from the three spring clips that support the heater assembly on the sheet metal panel; re-attach the spring clips to the new heater assembly. NOTE: Either memorize or record the position numbers that are cast into the ceramic housing of the burner to replace the new burner in exactly the same position. 9. Insert the three spring clips back into the sheet metal panel where the old, defective burner assembly had been removed. 10. Re-connect the slip-on wire clips to the new heater assembly in the same position as they were removed from the defective heater assembly. 11. Turn over the sheet metal panel with the burner assemblies attached and replace the sheet metal screws holding the panel to the stove top. 12. Turn over the stove top assembly and set back onto the range allowing space to reach to the back and re-connect the polarized connectors to the left and right side burners. 13. Slide the stove top back to the rear and carefully lower the front edge back down with the two metal tabs inserted back into the oven door frame. 14. Re-install the two sheet metal screws that hold down the stove top. 15. Turn on the main circuit breaker to the range. 16. Carefully test the new heater assembly by turning the range control knob to LO heat and watch for the stove top burner to momentarily turn red with heat. 17. Turn off the range control knob. 18. You are finished. It was a very easy installation.

spontaneous fiery rupture of element
After disconnecting the power... I removed the lower racks for clear access to the back of the oven. I used an electric screwdriver to remove the two small screws and then gently pulled the element away from the oven, exposing the connections. Using two pairs of pliers, the connections were separated and the element removed. Installing the new element was simply a reversal of these steps. My biggest concern was that I might break the oven door as I lay on it.

Both elements burned out after considerable use.
This is an instructable for Maytag Range No. JDR8895AAS.
Tools: #2 Phillips head screw driver
Time: Less than 30 minutes total.
Replacement of:
Top Oven Broiler Element (Schematic Item #10 Part Number: PS2342087) and
Bottom Oven Bake element (Schematic Item #2 Part Number: PS2362492).

Item #10:
1. Oven and Stove must be cool and POWER MUST BE OFF TO RANGE. Carefully pull range to access the electrical
plug. Unplug range from electrical outlet. Replacement is done from INSIDE of oven.
2. Open the oven door to the first stop (about 1/4 open). Pull the door straight up and off the hidden hinges.
3. Using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver- From inside the oven, remove the single screw located just below where
each element enters the back (inside) of the oven. (2 screws total) Note the position/orientation of the screw
plates.
4. The element is supported by an "L" shaped slotted bracket. Note the position/orientation of the bracket and
remove the two screws located on each side.
5. The element's prongs project into the back of the oven and have a bit of an angle to their connectors so some
manipulation is required to get them out of their holes. Gently guide the elements out so the connectors and a
few inches of wire are through the holes.
6. Firmly grasp the connector and the element prong and pull apart to disconnect. As the connectors are angled it
is helpful to view them with a flashlight to determine direction of pull.

7. Replace- To replace the element simply reverse steps. Note: Screw plates down and "L" bracket with 'screw
plate facing door.

Item #2:
1. Oven and Stove must be cool and POWER MUST BE OFF TO RANGE. Carefully pull range to access the electrical
plug. Unplug range from electrical outlet. Replacement is done from INSIDE of oven.
2. Open the oven door to the first stop (about 1/4 open).
CAUTION: THIS DOOR IS CONSIDERABLY HEAVIER THAN THE TOP OVEN DOOR.
Pull the door straight up and off the hidden hinges.
3. Using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver- From inside the oven, remove the 2 screws located above the element
where it enters the back of the oven. This element does not have a bracket.
4. The connectors and prongs are straighter so gently pull them and a few inches of wire into the oven area.
5. Firmly grasp the connector and the element prong and pull apart to disconnect.

6. Replace- To replace the element simply reverse steps. There are no position/orientation issues.

Lower Bake Elemement Needing Replacing
Cut the power to the oven off so I didn't have to pull the oven out fromt the wall --> took off the oven door (no screws involved)--> unscrewed the piece in the oven and pulled the connectors off and out so they wouldn't fall back through the hole --> connected connectors to the new element and screwed it back in --> done

Inner glass oven cracked
The feedback from other customers was excellent. It does come apart in layers, and it helped me to number each layer with a sticky note as I dismantled it. I also kept the screws for each layer right next to the layer, so that I knew how many screws each layer used. The only thing I can add is that the tabs to remove the innermost glass from the frame are on one of the shorter sides of the rectangular frame. The tabs are part of the frame, and when you bend them outward the side of the frame detaches and you can replace the glass easily. In addition to the #1 Philips screwdriver, all I needed was a pair of pliers to bend the tabs.

so easy
Frankly I really don't know how to open the top. The "stupid" manual does not explain how to change the surface limiter at all, and I have no clue at all. Luckily for me, the salesperson at the store gave me a hint: just ask anything on Google, there are plenty of videos on how to do, and it did. I am so thankfully to Google, it makes my life so easy.
