Very loud sqeeling noise
My husband and I followed the advise on the website and replaced the drum support wheels (Very helpful video). That wasn't the problem, still squeeking. Before we started buying more parts we took the drum back off and lubricated everthing that moved. Not a peep. Runs very quite now.

Timer knob and dial skirt broke
Don't even bother calling local appliance places to find parts. They never have them, but will offer to order them for you. Turning on the dryer with vise grips gets old awfully fast. I went to the website and easily located the parts I needed, ordered online, and they were here the next day! I did not have to go driving around to get them, so even though there was a reasonable shipping cost, it was worth it. It took me about 30 seconds to install the new knob assembly. I would definitely rely on these folks the next time I need applicance parts for a repair I can do myself.

Drum noise
Unplugged dryer first. Took front dryer door off with screw driver and set to the one side. Removed the two screws on each side of the dryer and set the drum holder beside the dryer door. Removed the belt from the drum and pulled the drum out the front of the dryer. Took snap ring plyers and removed the drum support roller and then removed roller shaft with socket. Put back together in reverse order.

Broken Latch
The dryer latch had fallen into the dryer door itself and the door no longer stayed latched shut. I purchsed a replacement latch and simply popped it into the hole. No tools! I did leave the old latch to rattle around inside the door whenever it opens though.

Horrible Noise, worse with heavy loads
So the clothes dryer had been making horrible sounds. We decided to wait until after vacation to look into it. The age was almost over 25 years, rough estimates seemed to indicate a minimum repair bill, if it wasn't a basket case would be over $200 almost half the price of a new one. By now the noises had graduated from annoying to intolerable. All things considered we went shopping, after carefully measuring the door. A 28" door has a 27" opening through the frame. The minimum width of all dryers on sale is 27.5" or larger!!! For a short while I considered replacing the door with a 30" door.

As I have always thought, if it appears a hopeless case, go ahead and take it apart, might be able to fix it, if not you may learn something!!! The manual that was supplied with the unit had only operating instructions, no parts list or the like. We had convinced ourselves that the problem was the belt slipping. An internet search not only found the parts list but a list of symptoms and cures. The articles agreed that loud screeching noises were most likely (96%) caused by a defective drum roller (notice singular). There was even a video on how to do it!

So I started through the procedure of ordering a drum roller kit on their internet site. No matter what I did by the time I got to the point of confirming the order it showed the quantity ordered 2. So we phoned (Friday night) the lady on the phone seemed amazed that I wanted one, the stated that in all the years she had been there no one ever ordered only one, there was only one in the picture, we are talking $12 and no shipping so I said send me two. She said shipping would be 5 to 5 days

The next day, Saturday morning the parts were laying on the porch!! The video said an inexperienced person could perform the repairs in 45 minutes. Yes! two rollers. Fortunately I have a collection of snap rings, there is a snap ring somewhere inside the dryer or in the room I heard it hit (add snap rings to the Kit!! they have a habit of taking off on their own. The hard part was getting the belt back on, all the pictures and the like were a bit different than what I was looking at but two hours and it is running like a top. If it wasn't for the belt puzzle it would have been done in less than an hour.

The part of the timer dial skirt that fits over the timer metal tab had split.
The timer dial is a three part piece. I disassembled it according to the instructions on the web site. I reassembled it with the new piece. Next I tried to place it on the metal timer tab, but it would not go until I found the metal insert from the old skirt on the timer tab and removed it. The new timer dial skirt comes with its own metal insert. After removal of the old metal insert, it was simple to push the timer dial into place.
