It all started with a broken drum belt....
I purchased the drum belt locally then searched the internet for an instructional video and found it on your website. Once I got into the dryer which is 24 years old, I discovered many other parts that needed to be replaced. So at that time I ordered all other items from PartsSelect.com. Before each repair, I started with the instructional video. First repair was the front glide kit, followed by the front and rear drum felt seals. Next, I replaced the drum support rollers and the idler pulley wheel. Last, I replaced the blower seal then put it all back together and installed the drum belt last. Also, while everything is apart it’s a good time to vacuum up all the lent in the dryer. I placed the dryer back into the laundry room and immediately started using it. We’ve probably already run 20 or more loads through the dryer and its working great. I’m hoping to get many more years of service out of it. Thanks Parts Select….I could not have wished for a better repair experience. You now have a loyal customer.

Belt broke
Following video instructions, replaced the belt. Did it once before so this time it was easier. Two years ago I replaced the plastic fan as it was spinning on moter shaft making a loud noise. (The moulded plastic fan has a flat which slides on the motor shaft. The motor start up torque over time (15 + years)stripped the flat allowing the fan to spin on assembly.) The mistake I made was not replacing the belt when I had the machine apart to replace the fan.

Overheating (Your going to love this one!)
Replaced temperature control thinking the dryer was overheating and burning through the aluminum tubing to the duct. The next day the tubing had a hole again. Long story short, there was a rat coming in through a lint built-up duct outside. Hearing the blinds moving next to my bedside window at 5am. I see a rat looking at me. I leap up and it leaps out to the carpet and under my bed through our door and heads down stairs. I go into laundry room looking for it. I turn on dryer and it heads past my toes to the family room under a coach. I finally chase it out the back slider door. Thank God for PartSelect. It only cost me $30 to figure this fix out. Can you imagine paying a tech to come out and charge me hundreds to tell me I have a rat. lol

drum not turning
I removed the front and the bulkheads as well as the drum. I replaced both wheels, the belt and the front and rear seals. The seals were definately the hardest part. I also cleaned the dust and lint out from inside the dyer and cleaned the outside, which is why it took me as long as it did. I also replaced the duct to the outside. It works as good as new.
