Screeching Noise when dryer running
Isolated problem by watching videos on your website;ordered two new rollers, one idler pulley, and new drive belt (unit is almost 19 years old).Disassembly was easy; roller replacement easy (added grease to shafts), had to get rear access to replace idler pulley and install new belt.Used a long screw driver to get leverage to get belt rolled over on to the drive wheel. Zipped it up, turned it on, and it ran quiet as a churchmouse. Your site has it all; drawings, parts/descriptions, troubleshooting videos...nice little project. Thanks, John P.

Original Lint Filter was torn.
I checked the model number inside the door and googled Maytag parts: Part Select had it in stock with a picture that showed it looked right for my dryer. I ordered it and it came very promptly--I exchanged the filter and the filter works fine--easy to do and prompt service from the Part Select.

Loud Rattle On Start Up And Shut Down And A Grumble While Running
At first I could not figure out how to get into the dryer. My brother inlaw bobby had the same issue with there dryer and told me how to remove the front of the dryer by first removing the two screw on the bottom front of the dryer. Once the front was off the rest was easy. Just a couple of pieces to remove on the inside and I was at the fan. Just as he said, the plastic fan was worn out where it slides onto the motor shaft. The only special tool I needed was a small snap ring plier to remove the snap ring on the motor shaft, other than that it was easy. Thanks to bob he saved us buying a new dryer. Maybe get a few more years out of this one.

Tumbler didn't rotate
Removed tumbler, replaced belt The tensioner was backwards from most . The U-Tube instructions were great till I got to the tensioner. My dryer dates back to before Whoorl Pool bought Maytag. The instructions were for a newer model.

You Tube Video
Followed the video but had difficulties latching the rubber belt on to the small rollers. Video should've added 2nd option that to use the rear of the dryer to connect the belt. Just have to have a strong grip.

Roller glides for drum went bad
After watching the video to repair the glides my son and I began the process. After making the repairs and putting the dryer back together the drum would not turn. I told my son it had to be a bad belt He claimed it was not. After taking the dryer drum off we found the belt to be very brittle and worn. After calling around a shop that sold the part was found. Replacement was made and the dryer now runs like brand new. Thanks.

Broken Tumbler belt
I repaired my dryer with the help of the instructional video provided by Partselect.com. Great parts and resources. Highly recommend to anyone looking to save on repairs because I'm not mechanically inclined and it was an overall easy repair.

A clanking knocking noise.
Removed front of dryer. Took front drum guide off. And removed drum. Found the blower fan was spinning on the motor shaft and not fixed to it. So I replaced the fan and belt and cleaned out the insides. Maytag gave instructions on the website and the belt threading diagram was included with the belt. I also freed up one of the drum support rollers it was binding. Easy fix for anyone that can work with tools.

rear roller drum and shaft broken
Followed instructions on the you tube video included in the part selection of the PartSelect part ordering webpage. The video described replacing the drum roller and shaft, as well the dryer cabinet / drum belt / etc. removal to access the broken parts on my exact dryer. Individual parts were less expensive on other websites, and I could find the you tube independently, however, the instructions included from PartSelect, quick delivery and professional service from Part Select were worth the difference ! My first experience with PartSelect, but not my last.

Maytag Electric Dryer over 20 years old. Loud banging noice when running.
Entered Model # and problem into search engine on internet.Luckily i found your site.I entered my model#,brand, etc and your site was great with common causes. I watched repair video on your site.Video was excellent.I took off the front panel and one other panel, pulled out the drum and inspected the rollers.I also inspected the belt.Belt and rollers were fine. Noice was coming from blower motor area.I removed the blower motor cover and found that the blower wheel (squirrel cage) was hitting against the blower motor cover.Blower wheel was worn where it slides onto the blower motor shaft.Blower wheel should be D shaped and tight fit on shaft when new.Ordered part. Was able to track delivery and when it was arriving at my house.Installation went great. Problem Solved.I will definitely keep PartSelect on my favoites e-mail sites. I would recommend them to any friends.Excellent service from beginning to end. Thanks Again !!!!!

Dryer eating clothes!
I followed video, took out two screws from bottem front of dryer. removed door set a side, used a nut driver to remove the 4 nuts holding the front drum panel, I used a 1/8 drill to remove 4 pop-rivets holding what use to be front glides,I put the new glides in cork parts first then the plastic parts, than used my poprivet gun to but in the new rivets. I put it all back together and now no more holes in my underwear!!!

Squeaky drum roller.
First I took the front of the dryer off and removed the drum (of course, after disconnecting the power supply) Removed the belt and then the roller itself. I had to open a removable port on the back side to reinstall the belt but that was also very easy. The videos made it all seem soooo simple. Thank you.

roller noise
I originally diagnosed as tension roller but found it to be a drum roller. Plastic had separated from the Babbitt bearing. So replaced both drum rollers and returned the tension roller. Only problem was the video was not for Maytag Neptune but a more generic dryer and I spent an extra hour try to reattach the drum belt. The video was the one that came with the email notification of part being shipped. Hook up to motor drive is backward from what the Neptune is. Eventually went looking for another video on my own and discovered the difference.

Rotating drum made an uneven louder whirring noise
I viewed the roller replacement instruction video on the website which was very helpful since I had never replaced drum rollers. A leisurely pace of one hour to replace the two rollers, half of which was spent vacuuming the interior. Removed the front panel without tipping the dryer. Had to disconnect a ground wire to remove one bracket but otherwise only had to remove screws, slip rings and washers. No belt removal. Drum was pulled away from rollers but remained in cavity Reassembled without any problem. Ran the dryer - much quieter and no longer had the whirring noise.
