The latch would no long hold the dishwasher door closed.
1.Turned off the pwoer to the dishwasher.
2.Opened the dishwasher and removed the torx screws holding the back panel of the door. The top center two screw also hold the latch in place.
3.Gently opened the back cover about 4 inches.
4.Release the two small clips on each side of the latch switches. This releases the complete latch/switch assembly.
5.Remove the wires from the switches.(be sure to keep them seprated)
5.Replace the complete latch assembly with swithches.
6.Plug wires into swithes.
7.Replace rear cover.
8.Re-install torx screws.
9.Turn the power back on and your ready to go.

Handle broke off the unit.
Removed the power scource then the torx screws around the inside door liner. Then removed the two wires from each of the two switches on the latch assy. Connected the wires to the new latch assembly and put in place. The screws around the inner door lining hold the unit in place. Easy! Easy!

Broken handle and latch
This is the 4th time the latch broke on our dishwasher. We paid someone the first time, my husband fixed it the other two times, he is out of state so I had to do it this time. I took the screws out of the door and looked inside and saw it would probably be easy. Then when I got the part and put it in, it was beyond easy. The hardest part was to take the plugs off of each side, they were a little stuck and then putting them on the new handle was easy. The door had a place where the part rested and then you put the door back together. Those screws hold in place and it was done. Run down-screws out, plugs off old, plugs on new, set in place, door together, screws in, done. Works beautifully.

Door wouldn't lock closed.
Looked part up on this site, ordered at 11:00am, received it next afternoon.
Turned electric off, removed the screws on the door with a Torx screwdriver, unplugged the old assembly and installed the new one, put the screws back in and turned on the power.
I then ran a rinse to make sure everything worked.
Very simple fix.
Thanks for a very helpful website.

Door Latch broken
Replaced the door latch. This process was an easy repair
job. My wife did all the repair work while I played a round of golf! I gave her a HUG when I returned home!

Latch assembly was broken
I ordered the door latch assembly for our Maytag dishwasher. The part arrived earlier than promised and was easy to install. Overall, a very positive experience. The replacement only took 20-25 minutes, and I do have two pointers that might shave about five minutes of the job.

1. Interior door panel re-installation.
When you are reattaching the interior door panel, insert each of the eleven or so Torx screws and leave them all loose until they are all in. There's not a lot of slop in the door alignment, and if you tighten each screw as it goes in, the last two or three may be pretty hard to get inserted. At least that's what happened to me. So I re-loosened all the screws, re-aligned the door panel, and the last few screws went in easily. Just leave them all loose on the first pass.

2. Microswitch plug removal.
The cable plug connector fits pretty tightly on the two microswitches. I could not unplug mine by hand. I found that using needle nose pliers BETWEEN the switch and copper connector lugs really made it easier. I just slightly depressed the copper tabs, and then pulled the connector plug away from the door latch assembly.
Overall - Fast delivery and easy replacement. I'm quite satisfied.

Thje door latch was broken.
I opened the front panel with a power screw driver and removed the latch. It had 2 plastic bumps on the handle that had broken off. The PartSelect website showed 3 views of the part so I could verify that it was the right one.

I paid $21.17 for the part and $7.49 in shipping. It arrived the next day via FedEx. It was the right part and the dishwasher was out of order for only 30 hours. The new part had the plastic bumps reinforced with steel shafts.

Good thing this company has many views of the part so you can be sure it's the right one.

Very pleased with the service.

Broken Door Latch Assembly
Easiest repair ever done. With the door open, remove all of the door liner screws and set aside. Lift the inner door liner away from the door frame to access the door latch. The door latch is held in place by two of the door liner screws, so the switch will already be loose. Note the orientation of the old latch assembly to insure the new latch is positioned correctly. Lift out the door latch slightly and carefully remove each wire and exchange the wires in position on the new latch. After the wires are firmly affixed on the new latch assembly, discard the old latch assembly. Set the newly wired latch assembly in the door over the corresponding hole positions for the top of the door liner. Align the door liner and insert the screws. Tighten each screw making sure that all screws are firmly secured, but do no over tighten them as it is easily possible to strip the threads.

Door Latch broken, no lights on, could not start.
Opened the front panel, cleaned everything, installed the new part and ... the only reason it took me longer (this is the funny part) it's because I forgot to turn on the switch on the wall so, kept working on until my wife remainded me. I recommend your web site for the easy navigation, the great instruction and the fast deliver of the right product.
Thank you!

Broken Catch on Door Latch/Switch Assembly
1) Watch Video on PartSelect.
2) Pulled power plug. Then removed Door panel screws and screwed them into a scrap piece of cardboard, because they were of two different lengths and not discernable pattern.
3) Removed old switch/latch assembly.
4) Verified part removed with image on website. Also verified model numbers.
5) Waited 3 days for part to arrive (too cheap for overnight...would have doubled the cost).
6) Installed new switch/latch assembly and door panel. About 30 minutes to remove old part and another 30 minutes (3 days later) to install new part and re-attach door panel.

door handle would not latch
remove nine 5/8" long torx head screws, lift out door latch assembly and disconnect spade connectors from 2 switches. This took a little levering from a flat screwdriver. Reverse procedure. Install replacement assembly by inserting spade connector and placing assembly in door. reinstall nine torx screws, two of which hold the reinstalled door latch. Hardest part of this job was to your knees while removing the screws.
