What I though would be a big ordeal, turned out to be a simple fix with the help of this website! I had a handle that would not work anymore and so looked up the make of the dishwasher and found the latch assembly part right away. I looked at the online video and pictures and it was really quite simple to do. Common sense told me to turn off the power to the dishwasher first and I did so at the circuit breaker. I have a electrical tool that tells me if power is flowing through a wire by making a loud beeping sound and I double checked to make sure the power was off. Then I took out the star shaped screws in the dishwasher plastic panel using a socket screw driver set I had (which happened to have the right attachment) Then, I saw the latch assembly which came off easily after removing the 2 screws holding it in place. The latch assembly had 2 wires attached on each side to the switches. I used a skinny screw driver to gently push back the plastic levers holding the switches in place and they slid off the old assembly. Then, having the old assembly in hand, I compared it to the online version and it matched exactly, so I ordered it. I took 2 days to arrive which was awesome. This was routine shipping. The rest was easy. I simply used the old switches still attached to the wires and slid them onto the new latch assembly after removing the new switches. I kept the old ones in case I need them later. I put everything back in place and the screws back in and turned on the power. It closed perfectly and worked perfectly! This was a piece of cake and I saved over $100 I am sure it would have cost to have someone come out.

The part arrived by Fed EX ground the next day. I removed 11 screws from inside the door, lifted up the panel, lifted out the old latch, unplugged two wire connectors, reconnected the two wire sets to the new part, layed it back into the door and reassembled with the 11 screws. The repair was very easy if you have the correct screw driver.

It was my good fortune to find PartSelect.Com while searching for information regarding a repair. Not only did PartSelect have the needed part at a reasonable price but the web sites video on how to effect the repair was excellent. The part itself was delivered in record time and the repair itself performed in less than half an hour. This is the best repair assistance I've encountered in the past 50 years. It's a web site I'll keep available for the future.

Monday morning, and the dishwasher handle broke - oh my!! I didn't want to call a repairman, so headed to google. I easily found the part I needed at Partselect, and the bonus of a video on how to replace the handle/latch assembly. I placed the order on Monday, and received the part on Wednesday - wow!! The repair was easy - the video gives great confidence. I really liked the savings involved by NOT having to call a repairman. Thanks. Mike

Your video with step by step instructions was most helpful. Since we bought the entire latch assembly including the handle, I did not need to remove the handle but only the plug in wire sockets and connect them to the new assembly. The first time I viewed the video I thought the handle had to be removed. In a subsequent viewing I realized it was unnecessary to do that when a complete handle and latch assembly was purchased. Pointing that out might be helpful.

The repair for installing the switch would have been very simple except the mounting post on the door was broke off on one side and the mounting screw was too short. Had to cut a small piece of wood to make mounting post the same length as the good post and purchase a longer screw. Once I did this it was a simple to finish the job.
