adjuster...right side
I removed screws from the old part, took it out and replaced it with the new part. Simple! I was frustrated because I couldn't find the part I needed and all the businesses I called told me I would need to replace the whole top rack, which I thought was silly since the only thing that broke was the plastic support/wheel. I figured out what part I needed by reading repair stories from other PartSelect customers...looked at the diagrams, ordered the part, replaced it, and voilia! all is well!

Bottom rack was hitting door when opened
I installed additional wheels that had broken off. This was on my elderly mother's dishwasher in Iowa. I was visiting from California for a week when I discovered it was broken. I worried about getting the parts because I was not familiar with the area. PartSelect saved me by getting the parts delivered before I flew back to California. It was really great. Thanks,

Door latch broken - would not start on "Auto Clean" setting, panel lights blinking continuously
Switched off circuit breaker to dishwasher circuit .

Removed (11) screws on inside parameter of door. (Use "star" shaped screwdriver bit) Folded inside door panel to right to expose latch assembly and create slack in wires. Removed wire leads from old latch assembly switches - being careful to note that the white wire leads connnect to the right side switch of the latch assembly and the black ones to the left.

Discarded old latch assembly (Latch handle fell off of old assembly when I removed the old assembly - plastic hinge pins had sheared off.)

Connected wire lead terminals to matching terminals on new latch assembly and reassembled door. Turned circuit breaker back on. Dishwasher works like new!

(Make sure "cleat tabs" at the bottom of the inner door panel go to the outside of the outer panel when re-assembling door. Check for leaks when running first load.)

The handle of the door latch assembly broke
After truning off the power, I removed the inside door panel by unscrewing the 11 screws. Next unplugged the latch assembly from the two electrical connections. Connected the two electrical connection to the new part and reinstalled the inside door panel. The only difficulty was that the first part I ordered did not have a handle as part of the assembly.

Door latch would not click into locked position.
Before starting the job, I looked at the information provided from others who had the same problem and had successfully installed the new part. The information provided was the reason I chose your company to purchase the part. THANK YOU!
1. Turned off power
2. Removed screws holding inside of door.
3. Disconnected and removed old part.
4. Removed dishwasher door handle and attached to new part.
5. Connected new part and positioned it in the handle insert. (Be sure the small bars holding it together are firmly in place.)
6. Reattached the door.
Here is the problem: I did not realize I also needed a new door handle as I assumed it would be attached to the new door latch assembly. My door handle is cracked and some of the plastic has broken away. I will now have to order the new handle and pay the cost of shipping that would have certainly been less if I had ordered it in the first place.

broken door latch
grabbed a chair & sat in front of dishwaser, removed all screws (11) on inside of door, latch held on by two most center screws, lift inner panel away from door outer a few inches, with pliers carefully slide off siamese spade terminals from latch assy. ( note wire color positions) install wires on new latch & reassemble inner & outer door panels (parts needed as per on line was somewhat confusing as noted in other contributors descriptions, I ordered Pn 2180048 & it was the correct part, PartSelect is a great resource including the customer feed back, wish there were more sources out there like them, will buy from them in future as needed

Original handle cracked and broke
First shut off power to appliance - then unscrewed 11 torx screws on backside of door. Once screw were removed the panel seperates into two pieces very easily. Quickly located front handle assembly - sits essentially in a pre-formed mold so it lifted right out. Detached two leads from old handle - needed needle nose pliers for this as they slide off each side. Make sure you pay attention to which side goes where with the wires - in this case it was one side black and the other white. Once the old handle removed - just slide wire leads on appropriate sides of handle and place handle assembly back in. Before attaching wires make sure handle is facing right direction. Put panels back together and put 11 torx screws back in to secure panels together. Tested handle - worked great. Restored power to dishwasher and tested handle again with washer running. Door opening should interupt cycle. All checked out well - dishwasher is back in operation. Total time for fix was about 20-30 minutes. Easiest appliance reapir I have ever done being an experienced handyman.

Broken rack holders and Door Handle
The adjustable racks were no longer staying place, Replaced 2 items, now the rack stays in place, 5 minutes, with no tools required. Maytag did not do a very good job designing the racks

For the door Handle this is the second time I replaced the handle. 6-8 screws using a drill had the handle exposed in no time. Removing the wiring from the switches is the toughest as the connectors grip the switch very well, a good pull is all that is needed.

Was done with minimal effort and time. Make sure to turn off the power first as it is easy to touch the contacts on the switches when removing the handle

dishwasher refused to operate- broke the handle trying to 'kickstart it.
Have an identical model at another house so traded parts until it worked- turned out the control panel flat wiring was crimped & broke some circuits. Never would have guessed the problem. The new control panel (& latch) were a piece of cake to install-11 screws later.

handle broke when opening the dishwasher (should have been a Maytag recall)
With the correct torx bit, I was able to unscrew the fasteners on the inside of the dishwasher door. The handle assemble required unpluging two electrical terminals (flipped breaker switch for safety that had the dishwasher on it's circuit). To disconnect the terminals, I used a flat head screw driver to this. By placing the screw driver blade between the old assy switch and the terminal blade and then rotating the srew driver blade, the terminal blade slid out of the old assy electrical connector. Two of the screws holding the door, also held the latch assy. I switched the broken assy with the good assy, replaced the electrical wires, then replaced the screws in the door & reset the circuit breaker. Job done, The hardest part was getting past the fear of repairing my first dishwasher.
