Door latch broken
This problem is exactly what many others have had.
The flimsy part breaks with normal usage.
Fortunately, it was an easy fix and the replacement part was easy to identify and order.
I'm very impressed with the quick turnaround, it broke on Sunday, the part shipped Monday, and i installed it Tuesday.. Very Happy ! I only wish more online companies followed this fine example.

Broken latch handle
So easy a Cave man could do it. Remove 8 screws, prop open inner cover, lift out old latch unit, unplug power switch leads and replace. I did this with the power on but recommend turning it off for your safety. Very easy and part arrived in 2 days.

Broken Door Latch
First I threw the circuit breaker for the dishwasher to cut power. The I used a torx driver to remove the 11 screws holding the inside door panel to the door frame. The top 2 of these also held the Door latch in place. I used Needle nose pliers and standard piers to unconnect the two electrical connections from the latch assembly. Swapped out the original (broken) latch with the new assembly, reconnected the two connectionas and replaced the 11 screws. Very easy. Very quick.

door handle broken and wouldn't open
got the part off your website and I have to say that the little section that tells me that the dishwasher I had and it's most common problems really helped me get the right part. I wasn't sure if it was the handle or the mechanism inside that latches the handle but I got what was the most common problem according to your website and it was fixed. great and resourceful website. I will be shopping here from now on when I need parts for any of my appliances if you have them. You have been bookmarked!

The handle broke
Very simple repair. removed the torx head screws around the perimeter of the door's inside cover. Pulled (with some effort) the connectors off the old handle. connected them to the new one and re-installed the screws. As the screws are mounted in plastic and sheet metal take care not to over-torque them.

Door handle broke and was hard to open
It was so easy to install. It came with the handle and switches already put together for me. I removed about
ten T-20 Torx screws from the inside cover to expose the handle mechanism. When you remove these screws it also releases the handle assembly. The hard part if you want to call it that, was removing the wires off the old switch assemblies. A small screw drive works fine to pry them off. Re-connect the two wires and install the cover and your done. I did a lot of checking and PartSelect.com had the best price anywere.

plastic part was worn out
the small plastic part that turns the dishwasher off and on when the door is shut was worn out. It was really easy to change out. I unplugged the power cord and removed the black and white wires. Put in the new switch and it was ready.

Maytag Dishwasher Door Latch broken
Remember to switch off the connection to the dishwasher FIRST!!
remove all the screws from the door and used pliers to unplug the 2 switches and attach the new part. It looks very easy to repair but needed lot of effort as removing the broken part was the toughest. Had to break open the switch and remove the teeth of the switch.

Plastic Door Latch Broken
Unplugged electricity to dishwasher, unscrewed the interior cover, pulled out the handle and latch assembly, had some difficulty unplugging the electrical connections(best to insert a regular screwdriver tip in between and twist), removed the assembly, then plugged in the new assembly noting to remember which wires go to which side, and then reattaching the interior cover, plug back in the electricity. Really simple fix. PS: The 2nd time this has happened, the first time under warranty with maint. man doing the work.
