Plastic latch broke
Everything went well and was pretty easy. The only slightly tough area was getting the wire clips to release off the terminals. You for sure want to cut the power to the dishwasher before starting your repair

Handle release broke, could not close and seal door
I removed the screws holding the inner door panel (approx 8), pulled it back and removed the handle unit from the inside. When I examined the unit I found a pivot/rod holder broken. I wrote down the part number and model etc. Went online and the site described the usual faults reported and ordered the part. It came in within a couple of days. Had unit repaired within 10 minutes. In this day of disposable everything, this was a delight and a surprise. I will buy other Maytag stuff just because this was so easy.

Latch Was Very Hard To Engage, Suddenly
My husband removed the inner door panel to get to the latch, found two little plastic teeth broken. He replaced the entire nandle and latch assembly in case anything else was broken or worn, having to snap the switches in place, secure it to the door and reattach the liner with several screws. That was it. Found the site very easy to navigate, liked the diagrams and feedback. Liked the percentages of what part fixed the problem the best.

Broken Handle to open door
To do this repair remove the 8+- star screws holding the plastic inner liner and the metal door front. Remove the electrical connections on the old switch. They are well covered so no need to turn off electricity. I had to give them a good tug but there is no release catch. Plug in the new switch and set in place. Put in all the remaining screws. Works great!

Handle Broke and Controls ceased to function properly
I switched off the breaker to cut the power to the unit, removed all the screws from the interior of the dishwasher door, lifted the door liner. The control assembly was visible. I unseated the existing assembly, disconnected the power coupling and reversed the process with the new assembly. .

Dishwasher door latch not working
Removed star screws holding the plastic interior door piece in place. removed old latch assembly. This is the second time I've had to do this, and both times it was difficult to pull the wire harness off of the wide flat brass contacts. I tried removing the contact assemblies boxes and reusing those (which I did last time since I couldn't get the leads out of the wire harness), but the first assembly fell apart. I was finally able to remove the leads from the wire harness with vice grips by holding the wire harness and jiggling the contacts back and forth. I was really afraid that the new contact boxes would come apart, too, but they didn't. I could not get the contacts box to fit back snuggly (I even tried the old one) in their place and the plastic latches/hooks to go back in place. One of the latches/hooks actually broke off. I put the plastic door back back on, the screw holes didn't want to line up without pushing down on the plastic to flatten it out more, but I finally got them all back in. The star screws are easy to strip, so I had to be careful. The new latch assembly works just fine.
