Timer knob wouldn"t turn timer

I removed the six screws that held the control panel to the washing machine and then tried to unscrew the timer knob counter-clockwise to remove it,but it turned freely and wouldn"t unscrew as it should because it was broken inside. Took the plate off the back of the timer. Unscrewed two screws from the timer, then removed the plastic knob in front of the washer and removed the electrical plug from the timer. Then just reversed the process to install the new timer. read more

First I removed the remaining piece of the broken timer knob, then screw in the brand new timer knob. read more
