Looking at the replacement ice makers. Mine rotates to release the ice and when it gets to the point of hitting the top to release the ice it just keeps banging. If I push it towards the top as its banging it comes back down into place but the water does not run. If I push the button to cycle again it does as it should, but continually bangs to release ice and I have to push on it and then it comes back down and the water fills. To get the water to fill I always have to make it recycle by pushing the button, but everytime it just keeps knocking to release ice even though there is no ice in it or it all fell out. Is this typically an ice maker problem or a fridge problem? Debating on best route to take....fix or buy a new fridge. Thanks.

Door worked easy as when new. good closure of door and story..Happy customer, and wife even happier.....thank you....
removed 3 fasteners for top door and placed freezer door aside, then removed 3 more fasteners on bottom refrigerator door and place that aside. replaced bushing on lower door bracket and reversed the above procedure to reinstall doors.
Ordered the Part after looking at the choices shown, once I inspected the unit. I then knew by looks what would fit. THEN (important) went on Utube asking for video instructions. They had it on the computer and it was just too easy. What took the longest was the removable of the frozen food items and the drawers in the Bottom Freezer sect
