Balance cord failed on left side of dishwaser
Installing the new cord assembly took only 3 minutes after getting the built-in dishwasher out from under the counter. That was a thirty minute job. There was no way to slip my arm in to reconnect the coil balance spring. Thankfully the original installer supplied enough electrical and water line that did not have to disconnected.

Door would not stay in the upright position and would fall if not latched.
I removed the unit from under the counter and replaced the plastic and connecting cords to the springs, a ten minute job. The cord on the dishwasher is not made to take the strain and will break after some years of use. The kit came with all parts to repair the problem and there is a video on the site if you have a problem.

Dishwasher door wouldn't stay partially opened
Very easy repair. Just used a cordless drill driver to remove the nut on each pulley, replaced them and that was it. One of the easiest repairs I have ever done. Had to pull the dishwasher our far enough to reach the pulley on each side. Part only goes in one way so you can't screw that up. :^) Tip: Used a lockgrip plier to pull on the spring while I attached the cord to it. Not required but made it easier.

none of the spray arms rotated or sprayed water.
I checked on line and found evidence that my problem most likely was the failure of the circulation Pump Motor. I ordered the motor from Parts Select. When it arrived, a small section of the housing was damaged. I called for a replacement. The customer service agent was very helpful and the replacement arrived in less than 24 hours. I followed the video provided on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjRxJy2IUE8 and the one on PartSelect. Both videos helps provide greater clarity for the whole job. The hardest part of the replacement was disconnecting and reconnecting the water supply line. These were my steps. 1. I turned off the electrical power and water supply. 2. I removed the screws holding the dishwasher to the counter top. 3. I removed the two screws holding the bottom access panel. 4. I moved the dishwasher out about one foot and disconnected the water supply line. (Fortunately I didn't have to disconnect the power supply and drain hose because there was enough slack in these lines.) 5. I moved the dishwasher all the way out from the counter and moved it over on the its side. 6. I removed the bolt holding the motor and the motor shield. 7. I removed the connector supplying power to the motor and removed the motor. 8. I removed the inside screen, cleaned and replaced it. I also wiped the other surfaced with a clean rag to ensure a proper seal for the motor. 9. I also applied vasaline to the rubber grommet on the motor to ensure against leaks. 9. I aligned the arrows on the new motor housing and impeller housing and installed the motor as shown in the videos. 10. I reinstalled the motor shield and retaining bolt. 11. I reconnected the water supply, stood the dishwasher upright, turned on the water supply and found I needed to tighten the water supply connection a little more to stop a minor leak. 12. I ran the dishwasher through a rinse cycle to ensure it worked properly and that there were no leaks around the newly installed motor. 13. I reinstalled the dishwasher under the counter top, reinstalled the screws holding it to the counter top and replaced the lower access panel. While this took me a few hours, it was well worth the effort because a repair person wanted $500 to do the job. Thus, I saved well over $300 after paying for the motor. Good Luck with your repair job.

The dishwasher would not cycle. If the electricity to the unit was turned off for hours it would reset and cycle with some features working properly and others not..
My goal was two part: 1) eliminate the root cause of the problem, 2) make the unit work properly over the long term. A new dishwasher would cost $1200. Hence, it is economically justifiable to replace all the electronics which I did. The cost was $350 to restore the unit to operating like new elimnating whatever piece that would cause the electronic control board to malfunction. The repair was easy. It took me more time because I am meticulous and had not done this before. Now that I have done this the repair time would be reduced by half. Once the door panel was removed the method for changing all the parts was apparent.

Dirty Dishes
Removed lower spinner and bracket tube in rear of washer. Unscrewed the four screws that hold the pump cover. removed pump cover then unscrewed the two screws that cover the water intake port of the pump. One cover is hard to lift out. The best way is to use an L shaped tool like an Allen wrench and lift it out. Once thats out you see the filter with the cutter blades. Be careful those blades are sharp and will cut you. Removed old filter and installed new one. Make sure you line up the edges. Its not completely round but instead has small cutouts on each side that help it fit tight in the lower piece. Once you get yours you'll see what I mean. Take your time fitting the cover back on as the filter tends to move a bit and it can be difficult to line it up.

latch would not stay closed during the wash cycle
Even though the spring mechanism is listed as the culprit over half of the time it was not the problem here. I watched the videos of the replacement of the parts and followed the instruction. Holding the door parts together to get the screws started when reassembling was the trickiest part for me. The latch does now work.
