Refrigerator door not closing on its own
Remove all items from door. Remove bolt holding plastic cover on top hinge. Support door and remove 3 bolts holding hinge. Lift door off lower hinge pin. Remove bolt holding both cam assy's and pry the one on the door out with the screwdriver. Replace both with the new cams, place door on lower hinge pin, place upper hinge pin into door, loosely insert the 3 bolts. Align the door, tighten the 3 bolts and replace plastic cap/bolt. Put the food back in the door and you're done. The only nut-driver needed is 5/16" and the screwdriver is only needed to pry out the cam that's located on the door itself.

Ice Maker stopped making ice.
I called a repairman, who removed the ice maker and reinstalled it, not once -but- three different times and charged me $84.60. (That's all he did.) I remembered, PartSelect, watched video, ordered motor, received in three days, installed in less than fifteen minutes. Within ten minuted water was running in and later ice was dropping into bin, next day bin was full. Wish I had trusted myself and looked up my fridge problem on PartSelect before calling that (repair) man, and saved myself $84.60. By the way, I'm a 67 year old female.

Ice maker was not making ice.
I'm sorry I can't help you with this, as one of my sons diagnosed the problem and did the repair for me. It took him maybe five minutes to swap the parts, and the ice maker has been working fine ever since.

Fridge and freezer were warm.
The evaporator gan motor would work sometimes, but not always, so it took a while to be sure this was the problem. First ruled out thermostat and defrost timer. Also observed build up of ice on coils, so I knew compressor was working. Once I isolated problem to evaporator fan ( by observing stuck once, and seeing how it didn't spin freely) replacement was easy. In fact, since we were able to keep the unit running by watching the old fan and ensuring it was working while waiting for the new one to arrive, I was able to swap them out, plug unit back in and start it up before the ice in the bin even had time to melt! This repair saved me hundreds in repairs, and even more if I had to buy a new fridge, because the new units are too tall for my kitchen space.

Water would not despense
The video explains it well, however, for those with the built-in model, the one with the wood panels, things are a bit different. Thanks to another writer, I received help. After you unscrew and remove the two side metal décor strips from the freezer, you are left with how to remove the no-screws décor ice/water panel. It does NOT slide out. You must carefully bend the panel out and away from its top and bottom tracks. I do wonder why not just make it slide out, but no such luck. Be careful not to over bend. However, once you begin bending from the middle out, it will become clear to you how its going to come out. Also, with this panel removed, and left hanging there, it is not necessary to unplug any of those electrical connects. The only electrical work is removing the light from the control bracket you are replacing, as shown in the video. I found bending the décor panel back in place was easier than pulling it out. Be sure to unplug the unit. Plug found at top of refrigerator behind very top wood panel. You will need to easily remove this very top wood panel, and you will need a step ladder to reach plug.

Ice machine stopped making ice
Open freezer door and close flap on the left being sure not to block the infrared beam. If red light goes solid in a few seconds the Emitter receive and xmit boards are good. Unplugged fridge, Took the ice machine out took off the motor/controller cover and jumpered the two test points together with a short length of insulated wire. place the ice maker back on bracket to free up my hands and plugge in the fridge, turned ice maker on. Closed the flap and ensured red light was on solid and I was not blocking the beam... the motor control wheel did not turn slowly/cycle as it should have with the jumper inserted... Motor/controller assembly was bad. Pulled out icemaker and noticed some corrosion in the ice tray so ordered the entire ice maker instead of just the motor/control assembly... cost only about $30 more. New ice maker arrived and I installed, took about 10 hours before it got cold enough and began making ice.

Ice asker wouldn't dispense ice.
I ordered a new micro switch to do the repair. When I took face plate off the front of door two pieces of broken plastic fell out. Those pieces were part of what holds the switch in place, I need to order that part but I was able to use small tie wraps to hold switch in place and it has been working for a week now. The videos on this site are very helpful and gave me confidence to do the repair.

My ice maker quit working
I have some electronics background but your listed problems helped me narrow down the problem. I ordered the part, removed old part, installed new part (maybe 15 minutes total) and my icemaker started dumping the ice that was in the tray within 20 minutes and making more. That clunking sound of ice was music to me ears and wallet!! Thanks!!

Ice maker wasn't getting water
I called a repair man out to see what the problem was because my husband just died and I didn't want to pay such high prices for a repair. He told me I needed a new motor for the ice maker and it would be a total of about 305.00. I couldn't believe the price. It cost me 59.99 for his diagnosis. I went to your web site and found the part and watched you installation video. I am 65 years old and I was able to install the new part in less than 15 min. The part was about 95.00. I saved 150.00 by doing it myself. I will always look on line before I have a repair man do a job. I may need them to diagnose the problem, but I will try myself before paying such outrageous fees.
