remove the screw on the right side (about 3). remove the screws holding onto the slider. disconnect the right side panel and bring the panel all the way forward so that the part connected to the rear of the refrigerator comes loose. replace new panel and put parts back together in reverse.

The Amana's Ice Maker mounted against the back wall. I'm a 61 year old female that ordered this to help my aging parents. The wire harness only unplugged from the Ice Maker and was hard wired to the Frig. I had to "blindly" try to depress and release the harness clip and that took most of the time. When putting in the new ice maker, I noticed that the opening for the fill tube was now against the wall and not to the back. So, I had to disconnect it again. I found that it is also made for a side right fill by cutting out a perforated tab. Just to make sure there wasn't an overflow out of the other round hole, I used silver tape to plug the hole. It took two hours after plugging back in the frig and turning on the water supply before it made ice.

Kids complaint no ice and smelled like burned plastic,found ice maker melted,Replaced ice maker assembly,used existing harness not supplied with new unit,ice maker still no ice,verified an open at fuse link,installed inline fuse in place of existing fuse link.I was told harness not available.Harness section should be on new unit.Hint Hint!

Ordered replacement icemaker from PartSelect.com. Upon receipt of part installed part as per the online video. All went well. Whirlpool rep. stated that the icemake works well when the freezer temp. is set at 10 degrees or less.It took appreximately 24 hrs.for the icemaker to fill the bucket with fresh ice. It would hace cost approximately $230.00 or more if I had called a Service rep. to do the job. So I elected to do it myself.

well, my problem was the dual water valve. I check the two water valve connectors, one was good ( yellow ) and the other connector (brown) was bad. I tested them both with an ohms meter, of course all power was off. I think when ever there's a problem with not receiving ICE this should be done before replacing the ice-maker for there's a lot of things going on in this area. The Brown Connector releases the water into the ice-tray (that tested Bad with a reading of 257 from ohms meter,and the yellow had a sound from ohms for full contact a good reading. The brown valve was bad.

I unplugged the refrigerator. Then removed the ice tray. Then removed the screw holding the ice maker secure. I had a little difficulty lifting the ice maker off the clips on the side of the refrigerator but was successful. Then unplugged the wire harness from the back of the refrigerator an lifted the unit out. Removed the wiring harness from the old unit and installed it on the new one. Then positioned the new unit so I could plug the harness in the refrigerator and lined up the clips to attach it on the side of the refrigerator, being careful to line up the water distribution tube. Replaced the screw to secure the ice maker and plugged the refrigerator back in and it is working very well. I am very hsappy with the repair

Sorry for delay in writing. Part I ordered arrived two days ago and it was exactly what I needed. Knowing that there will be problems even with the smallest job I procrastinated starting. When I did start this morning I foud I had to completely remove the ice maker and disassemble it in order to install the water fill cup bracket. The challenge was reassembling the unit. Not hard for an experienced repairman but a challenge for layman. Everything is thing is back to gether now and power on cooling down the refrigerator. Won't know how successful it was until turn on water and ice is formed. If it works this saved $75 just to get a Sears repairman to come out and tell me what would be needed to fix the refrigerator and $1,000 if I had to buy a new refrigerator. Extremely satisfied with service I received. Thank you.

Part arrived quickly from vendor. Slip in hinge attachment on both sides were pushed in for removal and new lid installed in 5 minutes.

Excellent easy to follow video. Had expected a hassle but whole repair was very smooth and everything worked as shown in video. Sure beats impossible to follow drawings. My wife was amazed I could do it...usually I can't fix anything!

Thought I needed a new filter. Did not solve the problem. I returned the filter to partselect as per instructions. Will order from partselect when I need parts.

Easy...

The vertical mullion rail had detached from the plastic panel which was secured to the door of the refrigerator. Three wires were exposed. Plastic panel removed (with the exposed wires), new panel (already attached to the new mullion rail) had wires enclosed in plastic, which were then plugged into a corresponding plug on the refrigerator door. Slide the mullion rail on the plastic hinges (one on top and one on bottom). Tighten the bolt on the plastic panel, and voila! A 5 minute job for this 60 year old female.

WAY EASY! Very cost affected. Very frustrating that the peg used to secure the chef's pantry cover is molded into the side piece. Bad design by Amana but PartSelect helps make it a easy, cheap repair if it breaks off. This piece broke VERY easily as it is a little flimsy.

I turned off the water and electricity to the refrigerator. Then I removed the ice bin exposing the ice maker. I loosened the two screws on the wall with a 1/4" nutdriver and I removed the horizontal screw on the bottom of the ice maker again with the nut driver. That allowed me to lift off the ice maker so that I could remove the wiring harness from the ice maker. A flat screwdriver helped me push in the retaining tab, and disengage the harness. Installation was in the reverse order. A third hand would have helped reconnect the wiring harness, but I put a shoe box on the top shelf of the freezer compartment to hold the new unit while I connected the wiring harness, making sure to "hear it click" when fully engaged. I then removed the wire "feeler" from the old unit and inserted it in the new one. Inserting the water inlet hose and hanging the ice maker was simple after that. The existing bracket holding the ice maker on the bottom was not rusted so I did not replace it even though a new one came with the ice maker. I should add that I had previously defrosted the freezer in order to remove the ice bin as it could not be removed with the block of ice that had frozen in the front end. I'm a senior citizen with no prior experience in changing an ice maker. I wasn't trying to set an amount of time it could take which was about 40 minutes, including the time it took to turn off/on the water and electric breaker and go to the garage for a flat screwdriver and find the right size nutdriver, and next time I could probably do the job in about 20 to 30 minutes!
