Can I remove the black vent that is above my GE spacemaker microwave door so I can clean the vent? Are the two small screws above the microwave door holding the grill on? Do i need to unplug the microwave oven when i remove the black vent?Thank you!

Hi Alison, when you are doing anything with the microwave we recommend unplugging it for safety reasons. There are two screws that hold the grille on and it is simple to remove. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

The unbelievable happened. Our glass carousel cooking tray developed a crack. Each day the crack got longer. I ordered a new one on Tuesday and it arrived the next morning just before the cracked one completely cracked. I have never experienced such fast service. I highly recommend PartSelect and their helpful service.

... Read moree the filter since I was working on this. When I received it, and proceeded to change it, I found out that there was no filter. Finding the right position was a bit tricky. The most difficult part was to remove the front vent grille.
Don’t be shy, try it! Make sure, to disconnect the power when changing the filter.
