old element overheating causing eror on panel
First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Connected wires ti new element and screwed in place. Very easy repair. Element expensive $75
Unplugged the appliance for safety. Removed two 1/4" screws that held the assembly in place. Carefully removed the wire guard that retains the glass shield. Unscrewed old light bulb and replaced with new part. Reversed the steps after cleaning glass cover.
Twice I ordered the oven light bulb & each time the light bulb was defected
I had to call for a appointment for repair with GE Appliance because I thought then it . .was something electrical. The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. It cost me $121.00 for trip charge from GE appliance for a light bulb that worked, your light bulbs were defective twice. Very disappointed with your products, cost me alot of money for a good light bulb thru GE appliance
0. As a safety precaution, unplug the range or hit the relevant fuse breaker before you start. You might also want to grab a flashlight. Definitely do not try to do this while the oven is hot. 1. Pinch the wire over the light bulb cap to remove it. This is inside the oven at the back. 2. Pop off the hemispherical glass cap. 3. Unscrew the old light bulb, and screw the new light bulb in its place. 4. Put the cap back. 5. Secure the cap by putting the wire back in its slots on the cap.
No tools needed, the cap is just held in place with pressure from the wire.
Only one thing I would like to share, just because the oven is not turned on,does not mean the element wires are still energized! Turn off breaker before replacing element! Wife got see free fireworks! Wonder I didn't bake myself! New element installed works perfect! I imagine 220 volts of current supply the baking element even when the oven is off!
Took the top off and the front panel. then pulled of the old part and put on the new. the only tool I use was a screwdiver there were a few hiddden screw but it went quick and easy. thank for your help
I made the descision to purchase from from Part Select because of the BBB reliability program. The price was right, shipment was prompt, I had it installed within half and hour after receiving the part.
Took out the two philips screws,pulled the old element back a couple of inches and grabed the end of connector with needle nose pliers,pulled the old one out and put the new one in. Took about ten mins.
At circuit panel, turn off power to the unit; Unscrew the two screws securing the element to the oven back wall; pull element out so that the wire connections are exposed; pull off the wire connections (may require pliers); connect wires to new element; push wires into holes and attach new element to back wall of oven using the screws. Turn power back on.
