Gas stove knob was broken
The stove is over 20 years old, it was bound to happen. Because PartSelect.com has pictures of the part from three different views & detailed measurements, I was more confident that this part would be what I would need. When the part arrived in just 2-3 days, I opened the package, and slipped it into the socket... DONE ....Easy!!
Opened the package. Took out the knob. Put knob on spindle. The neat thing is it's an EXACT match! No bushings or adapters needed. No color difference; all the markings are identical. YAY!! I will be back, as all my appliances are aging sharply!
Our very old GE gas stove looked good except for the drip pans. I ordered all four and they arrived the next day. The price for the pans was very reasonable, and of course, they were very easy to replace. My wife looked at the stove and said the stove looked new. I love those inexpensive jobs that result in a good looking finished project.
Ordered new igniter switch, but Fedex lost it! Partselect sent new one overnight. Really a cinch to install. Be sure to unplug oven or turn off breaker if you are not comfortable with working with live electrical wires!
Just pushed the new timer knobs onto the stem. They fit and now I can set the oven timer without having to use a pair of pliers to grip the stem and turn it.
Two of the knobs fit perfectly.
The stem for the the clock was broken off and there was not enough of the stem left for the new knob to fit.
The repair in my situation is very easy and simple. Just push new control knob into the valve and it's done. I am pleased with my order and I received it sooner than I expected.
Unscrew the metal rim and remove the glass window. Remove the old bulb by twesting the bulb towards you. Place the new bulb's pins into the slots and twest away from you. Place the metal rims back in place and screw them down.
Pulled the knob's off the front of the stove. Removed 7 phillps screws holding on the front plate, pulled off the front plate, removed the ignitenr, and then reassembed the stove. It worked great.
I just had to lift the top of the stove. Then pull the old burners out and put the new ones. It took longer to ignite the flame than replace the burner. Works great !!!
