JES9800AAB Jenn-Air Range - Instructions

1. turned off the breaker delivering power to the oven. 2. removed the grates. 3. unscrewed the 2 screws holding the element in place and gently pulled the2 ends of the element from the rear of the oven. 4. disconnected the 2 power connections from the element being careful not to have them slip back into the insulation at the rear of the oven. 5 removed the element and connected the new element to the power sources - this was the most difficult task, with little wire extending from the back of the oven it required delicate handling and certainty that the connection was solid. 6. slid the 2 prongs of the element into the rear of the oven. 7. installed the 2 screws. 8. replaced the grates.

Watched the accompanying video on the website. Very glad I did as the key thing to remember when replaceing the bake element is that the connecting wires ARE VERY SHORT and can easily snap back inside the element lead hole in the back of the oven. Lead on the left side had a small amount of play but the right side element wire was extremely short and "snapped" back into the hole. I had to use needle nose pliers to pull it back through. Just take your time and keep your fingers on the leads as best you can.

The bake element repair itself was very easy and straightforward. The difficulty and extra time involved relates to improper wiring of the electrical circuit the range plugged into. A previous homeowner had apparently taken a shortcut when repairing a faulty di-pole circuit breaker and routed one side of the 240v circuit through a separate single-pole breaker which is a blatant electrical code violation. After replacing the faulty di-pole breaker and wiring the circuit properly the bake element repair was simple and the oven is working great. While most DIY folks will not run into this same problem with an improperly wired electrical circuit it pays to be cautious. I relied on the di-pole breaker to cut power to the oven during the repair but because one side of the circuit had been rerouted I received a nasty shock. Please do what I failed to do originally: unplug the range/oven at the wall before making the repair. And if you suspect improper wiring of the 240v circuit, please consult an electrician as it is a dangerous situation.

I removed the old sensor via the two screws holding it in, unplugged it and replaced it with a new one.

I called my son, left the part, two screw drivers out, went to work, came home and was able to use my oven again! It couldn't have been easier and I made him some zucchine cake as a thank you for doing the job! It was easy to order and pay for the part online, get the part within a week and I was back in business. Thanks for being available to make getting the part a no-hassle experience.

Repair video was very helpful. I have removed the screws on both sides of the appliance under the surface plate, in the front. The Owen door has to be open for that. Then I have pulled the surface plate for a little space to disconnect the two connectors. Turned the surface plate over on the kitchen table, removed the 6 screws. Turned the burners assembly over and removed the small burner by disengaging the two clips. I have removed the 2 clops from the burned burner and assembled it to the new burner. I have placed the burner and engaged the 2 clips with a crownose players. I have removed one electrical connecter at a time and connected to the new burner. I have turned over the assembly over the glass plate and assembled the back cover with 6 screws. Put the surface plate on the range and connected the 2 connectors, pushed back, lined it up with the 2 screw holes in front of the range on bot sides and put the 2 screws in and Finished.

The repair would have been very easy, except this oven has a factory defect with wiring for the element on one side. The element should just plug in after removing 2 screw. The wiring on one side is too short to plug into the element without the assistance of something like a wrench with a bent long nose, hence the the surgical clamp. The seal, for cleaning, is really easy to replace, It just snaps in to designated holes.

I lifted the grill off; took the old grease filter out and threw it away; placed the new filter in the well; put the grill back on. Wallah!!! just like new.

Fan accessible from the inside of the oven 4 or 5 screws release panel unplug old fan plug new one in and a few short minutes later up and working again. FYI I am a 46 year old girl who can be fearless about these projects, This was one of the easier things I've done. I also replaced the glass on a radiant insert once. Not that hard either.

My husband did it within minutes. Very easy.

Easy just loosened screws took apart door, removed broken glass and installed new glass.It took longer to clean the stove! Lol!

The hardest part was deciding if this part would fix the problem. The upper oven became unusable. Both elements worked fine until reaching temperature. The oven would not come back on after that. I took two screws out. Then I pulled the wires out and unsnapped the coupling. The install was reverse. I just snapped the coupling in place and replaced the two screws. All works fine now. Saved a couple thousand as wife was prepared to buy a new one.

Our heating element ended up breaking from age and use. The repair was extremely easy: turn off breaker to oven, unscrew two screws holding in the heating element, pull it from the unit and detach the element from the electrical wiring. Once this is completed just perform the steps in reverse. The part arrived very quickly from PartSelect, arriving in just 2 days with the standard shipping. Turn off power source before beginning.Unscrew the bracket attached to the back of the oven,carefully pull the heating element forward, exposing the connecting wires. Push any insulation back into wall while holding wires securely.Remove connection with needle nose pliers.Pull wires in wall from each side as far out as possible.Connect heating element to each wire carefully push back element lining up with holes in back of the oven. Attach screws snuggly and you're ready to use.

1. I ordered a replacement heater element from Parts Select, which arrived in just 3 days at my home. 2. I turned off the main circuit breaker to the range. 3. There are two small sheet metal screws inside the top left and right side of the oven door frame which need to be removed first in order to lift and remove the burner top from the range. 4. After lifting and pulling the burner top toward me about 6 inches, I unplugged the left and right burner assembly wiring harness connectors. 5. I lifted the burner top assembly off the stove and turned it upside down an a table. 6. There are six sheet metal screws that need to be removed to allow the sheet metal panel holding the heater assemblies to be lifted off and then also set upside down on a table top. All five burner elements are now visible. 7. Disconnect the slip-on electrical connectors to the specific heater assembly that is defective. 8. Unscrew the three small sheet metal screws from the three spring clips that support the heater assembly on the sheet metal panel; re-attach the spring clips to the new heater assembly. NOTE: Either memorize or record the position numbers that are cast into the ceramic housing of the burner to replace the new burner in exactly the same position. 9. Insert the three spring clips back into the sheet metal panel where the old, defective burner assembly had been removed. 10. Re-connect the slip-on wire clips to the new heater assembly in the same position as they were removed from the defective heater assembly. 11. Turn over the sheet metal panel with the burner assemblies attached and replace the sheet metal screws holding the panel to the stove top. 12. Turn over the stove top assembly and set back onto the range allowing space to reach to the back and re-connect the polarized connectors to the left and right side burners. 13. Slide the stove top back to the rear and carefully lower the front edge back down with the two metal tabs inserted back into the oven door frame. 14. Re-install the two sheet metal screws that hold down the stove top. 15. Turn on the main circuit breaker to the range. 16. Carefully test the new heater assembly by turning the range control knob to LO heat and watch for the stove top burner to momentarily turn red with heat. 17. Turn off the range control knob. 18. You are finished. It was a very easy installation.
