Outside element of dual burner does not heat
This Jennifer-Air cooktop has a black Schott Ceran surface. I unplugged the unit and disconnected the vent duct then removed the unit from the cabinet and shifted it 90 degrees to gain access to 10 screws that hold surface to body. Connections for replacement burner are slightly different than the original. I photographed wiring/connectors them removed the old burner. I removed mounting clips from old burner and installed them on the replacement (required two small tapping holes in aluminum case of replacement burner element). Installed new element and attached connectors (wires). No joy, outside element still did not heat - placed a dual element switch on order (have not received it yet). To be continued.

Nasty, clogged, old grease filter
I carefully removed the disgusting old filter and took straight to trash. I then used my wet/dry vacuum to clean the rest of the loose debris from the area where the filter area is located. I used a clean, dry cloth to wipe the remainder of the material away and then carefully lowered the clean new filter down into it's new home. So easy, it took longer to type out these directions :)

Fan Control Switch stopped working
Looked up the part on the internet. Found it with ease. The thing I did miss was that the switch had a small nub to keep it in the right place in the Glass top. The repair went easy. Probably took no more than 15 minutes. I would use PartSelect again.

I have experianced these knobs are easily broken.
Before installing the new part I made a metal coller to fit around the bottom of the stem. It gives the knobs the support that is lacking on the original part. I did this to all the knobs previosly and never had any more broken knobs.
