Ice Dispenser door would not close after use
I followed the directional video on "PartSelect" website. The video was very easy to follow and showed exactly how to easily replace the dispenser door solenoid assembly. I knew it was the solonoid assembly because the I could see the plunger that controls the opening/closing motion of the dispenser door sticking inside the old solenoid. The "PartSelect" website is very user friendly and very easy to use. The part ordered, delivered by standard delivery, arrived the day after it was ordered. I only wish all repairs could be as straight forward and easy as this one, thanks to "PartSelect" and some limited mechanical/electrical knowledge on my part. This was absolutely a "do it yourself" repair at a very significant savings over using an appliance repair service.

Ice machine & Water not working as well as uneven cooling
I simply replaced the motherboard which was very simple and straight forward. No I do have an engineering background and understand the importance of RTFM..... That being said I spent more time cleaning the floor under the refer than replacing the MB. Great success and will certainly order again if and when the time calls.

Unit making surging noises and water/ice dispenser not working
The repair video was great, made the repairs very easy. Once the old main electrical control board was changed out, the unit started to work good. I also vacuumed the back of the unit where dust had built up around critical air flow areas. I am still having trouble with the filtered water not working. I was thinking the trouble might be the water flow check valve. The cubed ice and crushed ice both work great. The freezer is set on 1 and the refrigerator on the 2 setting. I have found where the water spout comes out of the door, if the ice flapper door does not seal properly, the water freezes at the curve of the water spout. I open the freezer door for 10 or so minuets and that's enough to thaw the spout for use. The cost to do the repairs myself was $160. I saved hundreds of dollars. Thanks PartSelect. Dave,

flapper was locking open periodically.
Replaced flapper, which was in surprisingly good condition. Major part of repair was removing a lot of mold incurred from long term seepage of room air into the ice channel. In the process of the repair, I discovered that the solenoid to the right of the flapper was hanging up badly. I removed it and cleaned both the plunger and the interior cone of the solenoid with alcohol. This removed quite a bit of rust and some mold. Reinstalled solenoid, replaced flapper and it works just fine. May need to replace solenoid if problem recurs. Certainly worth $37.00!

Ice dispenser door not closing due to corroded solenoid
Followed instructions from Parts Select Videos about how to replace solenoid & dispense door/flapper. Only a couple of changes from the video with this model: 1) You can remove the control panel by pushing on 2 tabs located under panel and in front of dispense chute with 2 small screwdrivers, and you do not need to remove the black trim around the dispenser. 2) It would be great if each part, especially the solenoid, included replacement screws since mine were corroded and not easily found at the local hardware store. I would definitely pay a couple of $ extra to add screws to the order, or just have them included in the package with the solenoid.

Squeel Sound Off And On From Freezer
Followed the video instructions with the help of a young man who worked on trailer hitches before and knew how to splice wires. Beware of splicing the wrong fan motor back into the assembly. . . . That happened here and we had to start the splicing all over again with the correct fan motor.

Ice dispenser flap stopped opening and caused water dispenser line to freeze
Pull fridge away from wall and unplug it! Turn water valve off. Open freezer door and stuff a small rag/washcloth in hole where ice exits to keep the cold air in. There are 3 small holes on the bottom of the control panel, stick a small Phillips head screwdriver in the 2 outside holes and pop the control panel out. Pull the 3 connectors out of the back of the control panel. Set the control panel aside. Unscrew 4 Phillips head screws holding the plastic control panel bracket/ice cup/light bulb. Set this piece aside. Unscrew 3 screws that hold solenoid. Mine was completely rusted. Throw the old solenoid in the garbage. All the screws I removed were rusted. Go to home depot get some stainless steel screws that are the same size as the rusted screws and some spray rust inhibitor for metal and a tube of anti-seize. Wipe everything down with 1/10 solution of Clorox/water(q-tips help to get the tight areas)to get rid of all the MOLD. Spray a light coat of rust inhibitor on your new solenoid and let it dry. Coat the metal plunger of your new solenoid with anti- seize lubricant. Replace solenoid and all other screws that are rusted with stainless steel screws. Put the plastic bracket back in with 4 screws. Plug the 3 control panel wires back in and pop the control panel in the bracket. Pull the rag out of the ice chute, turn water back on, plug fridge in and push it back against the wall. Your done and hopefully the extra steps will help your solenoid last longer! Hope this helps!

Ice flap was sweating
I decided to replace my ice flap while replacing the solenoid. It was easily done while the face plate and control panel were already off. The problem I encountered was that the flap did not seal properly, thus I ended up with frost in the ice chute and on the ice box so the ice would not come out. Also, the water dispenser would not work because it froze up from the cold air coming out of the ice flap. I got another flap, but had the same problem. Finally adjusted the spring that helps hold the flap closed. That helped but there is still not a tight seal.
