Pulled the Ice Maker tray out, emptied the ice and turned the ice maker off. Then I took the inspection cover off, which was simple but I was trying to remove the Ice Crusher Assembly, I thought I might break the tray assembly if I forced it. I remembered seeing a link for a video link. Took time to watch it, just a few minutes, it made mention that you needed to let the tray warm up or it could crack when you pry the ice crusher assembly out. Once I saw how they removed it, it was a piece of cake. Guys watch the video and it will be a simple fix.

I did the repair per the video;pausing the video as I went along. I hit some snags which I refer as stop points, which may result in buying the entire assembly instead. I trudged through having to back track and disassemble 2 times. I made it through to a functioning unit. I am sure I would do better in the future. Overall, a good and sucessful experience.

The repair was extremely easy because PartSelect.com had a video on how to repair this item. I set up my ipad and played the video step by step. The gentleman, who was explaining how to replace the part, was outstanding! He did not miss one step which made my repair very easy. It took less than 30 minutes from getting my tools, replacing the part, re-installing the ice bin, and clean up. The only prep work was, in the morning, I removed the ice bin so it could be room temperature, just like the video said. (I saved the ice so my family could have ice throughout the day.)

I followed the instructions under "Plastic auger blades broke in ice tray". The only difficulty was getting the part 325 to release from part 352. Had to do some careful prying with small flat screwdrivers to make the release.

Auger blade broke and not providing ice.

Followed the instructions which walked me through the installation. When I had a question, paused the video instructions and carefully watched the technician and repeated his actions. My results were the same. Amazed how simple after watching the video completely before starting repair. His tip to let sit (and warm up) was vital. Letting the plastic become pliable before attempting to disassemble is critical. Again, watch the video first, pause & replay when you have a question and take you time. You can do it if I can.

Replaced the auger. The Parts Select video was excellent, but it continued to make only crushed ice after installing new auger. I took it back apart and removed the crusher blade assembly and discarded them. Now I have cubed ice only but that is what I wanted anyway!

I went online and found a u-tube video for replacing an auger in an ice dispenser. It matched everything I needed and the process also included replacement of the cover as part of the instructions.. The hard part was removing the cover.. I ended up sliding two table knives in between the outer casing of the ice maker and the inside cover to compress the tabs on both sides.. trying the putty knife (as instructed) I could not get the tab to stay released as I shifted from on side to the other.. each time the other side would slide back in and lock.. the table knives worked nicely.. held the tabs out of the way while I pulled the cover off.. My husband was thrilled I accomplished this.. He's not mechanical at all.. I've been bragging about saving us a bunch of money as well.
