GU2400XTPS3 Whirlpool Dishwasher - Instructions

My son Eric, read the directions and followed every instruction. Job was complete in less than 15 min. I filled dishwasher and set it to clean. Worked perfect and dishes came out sparkling. Thank you for you service. My ordered part was here overnight and instructions were easy and clear. Rebecca

Start by removing the dishwasher from cabinet. Oh, don't forget to turn off water supply and also don't forget to install a plug on garbage disposer so when your other half uses the sink while you are outside you don't end up with a leak! Both supplied hoses installed easily, the third which I used semi flexible clear tubing with clamps deemed more difficult to bend, so I soaked the hose in very hot water to make it more pliable thus making the bends easily. I then had to wait until I was sure I captured the culprit before re-installing the unit.Your sales person was very informative and knowledgable and helped immensely!

The Parts select video instructions for this part are pretty much spot on. The grinder assembly broke where it attached to the circulator pump impeller shaft. The screen became totally clogged and thus no water pressure to the diswasher spray arms. The only thing Id add would be to verify the circulator pump impeller is in good shape after removing the old grinder assembly and that you are able to rotate it by hand in case the impeller motor itself is seized or the impeller is jammed. Once the grinder assy was replaced good water pressure and cleans like a champ.

My dish washer is a under the counter type.On mine there are two screws that screw into the bottom of the counter frame,these are located inside when you open up the door, they will be right on the inside and to the very front of the upper part of the door opening. Remove both screws. Now,be slow and start to pull the unit out from under the counter. Make sure you don't scrastch your floor,you may use a towel.If your dish washer's discharge hose is conected under the sink, go ahead and remove it. If your unit can be unpluged, unplug it. If not throw the breaker.Try to turn your unit on' if it does you still have power still on. Try again.With the unit pulled out so you can see the back, lay on your side and look for to long looking plastic nuts with a wire coming out of them. These nuts are holding your eleament in place.Unscrew both nuts and let them slide down the wires. Pull both of the wires off the eleament.now reach inside and remove the old eleament.Put new eleamen in place, reconect wires and tighten the nuts,caustion not to tighten nuts to tight.Ok hook the hose and eleectric back up,push the unit under the cabanet, and install the two screws.Really hopes this helps.

Put back together could not pull apart without damaging door panel and insulation.

I am not the greatest at fixing things. Though the instructions were called "really easy", I made it difficult. In fact I broke the first one I ordered and had to reorder. My mistake was I was prying with screwdriver way too hard and broke a piece of it off. So, during the early morning hours on the day after the new part arrived, a still small voice told me what I needed to do. I had put the wheel of the assembly in the track and then tried to make it fit on the wires of the rack. Wrong!! Install the assembly, THEN when you have done that, put the wheel in the track and then put the end cap on and you are done. Piece a cake even if I don't say so myself.

I followed the "Installation Video for Chopper Assembly". No problems except chopper cover was hard to remove. Be careful to install new part with gear engaged and screen correctly inserted in grove. See my pic of old clogged screen/broken chopper.

Read comments on-line here. Then removed both drawers, removed one screw from top filler tube. Gently pulled tube down just enough to remove small "button", after first putting a cloth over entire bottom of dishwasher to catch it if it, or screw, fell. Button goes in "pointy side" down. Squeezed new spinner onto button until it "popped" on. Replaced top screw, drawers and ran a load. Worked perfectly. Button was worn out. Would be nice if only button could be purchased.

Followed the video instructions. They were clear. No problems.

Watched the video on the web site and fixed the problem. Saved me $100 service call plus parts

The dishwasher made a loud grinding sound when it ran. We looked at new dishwashers and they're still basically the same, but the $$$ is so high. We looked at the reports PartSelect.com and after reading the reports, decided it was the pump motor/impeller unit and ordered it online. FIRST, read all the other installation stories. It will save you time. You will save unnecessary steps. In the end, it wasn't actually as bad as it sounded. So, here are the steps I took to install the new pump motor with impeller unit. ONE: turn off the water supply TWO: turn off the power (I had a dedicated circuit breaker just for the dishwasher)THREE: disconnect the water supply at the pipe(not the dishwasher) FOUR: Disconnect the drain hose at the drain(not the diswasher)FIVE: remove whatever screws are holding the unit inside the base cabinet SIX: pull out the diswasher(carefully watch the wires, hoses and insulation) SEVEN: tip the dishwasher forward (lay it on rags, watch for water)EIGHT: Disconnect the electrical supply plug to the pump (it's a plug-type connection, squeeze the edges to release)NINE: remove the one bolt holding the motor on the pump assembly and the heat sheild(you'll need a ratchet with extension) TEN: turn the pump motor counter-clockwise and pull it off. ELEVEN: align the arrows on the new motor of the pump and mounting assembly. TWELEVE: clean the o-ring on the pump and lubriate with drying agent THIRTEEN: place the motor on the pump assembly rotated counter clock-wise a bit past the bolt hole and press until it seats. FOURTEEN: turn the motor clock-wise to engage the locking mechanism and align the bolt hole. FIFTEEN: replace the bolt and heat shield. SIXTEEN:reconnect the power plug SEVENTEEN: tip-up the dishwasher, slide the unit back under the cabinet. EIGHTEEN: reconnect the drain, water, and power. NINETEEN: turn-on the water and restore the power TWENTY: test(start a wash cycle) the unit to be sure it doesn't leak. TWENTY: if all is good, replace screws holding the dishwsher in the cabinet(otherwise you will have to back-track to find your error - I didn't). And that's it! Now it's running smooth and silent, just as before. Good luck!

The employee helped me so much when ordering the parts. So many thanks to him. The repair was easy.

I removed the 2 top screws that hold the dishwasher to the counter. Removed the bottom kick plate. On the bottom left side you will find the inlet valve, I disconected the water in-line and the out-line. I removed the screw that holds the inlet valve to the frame and removed the inlet valve. I installed the new inlet valve in the reverse order.
