GU1200XTLS3 Whirlpool Dishwasher - Instructions

We tested the fuse and the circuit was open. I ordered the part using the steps in Part Select. Two days later it arrived. We removed the inside of the door and replaced the part...spade connectors made it simple and there is no polarity in the fuse. Either wire can go on either end. We replaced the door screws and we were finished. Once we had the part it was a five minute repair. We now have a functionl dishwasher. Thank you PartSelect.

You pull off the end caps on the top rails to slide in the wheels, and of course it just snaps on the rack and voila. 3 minutes tops, my wife did it before I got home.

After reading the manual that a flashing green light is caused by a heater circuit, I assumed that the cause was the heater element. I found PartSelect on the web, ordered the element and received it the following day. I watched the video on installation and replaced it within a half hour. Unfortunately, the clean light still flashed. I went back to PartSelect site, read other peoples comments and ordered a thermistor. The delivery took one day and the replacement less than a half hour. Again, the light flashed. I ordered the high temp thermostat, received it immediately, changed it out and still had the flashing clean light. From the Part Select site, I learned the hi-temp/heated dry combination reset after the wash cycle for the rinse cycle without the heated dry. Dishes come out clean. I'm afraid to order the controller for over $120.00 and have the same outcome. I wish I had invested in an ohm meter. I am very happy with the PartSelect web site. It is very informative, easy to locate the parts and very quick delivery times.

Empty dishwasher remove bottom basket. Disconnect electricity then turn off water. Remove top screws from counter. Slide unit out and gently tip forward. Remove the two wires from connectors on element. Unscrew plastic nuts from element save if reusable. Gently tilt unit back to normal position. Remove old element and install new one and attach to stainless spacers to hold element in place. Tip unit forward. Reinstall plastic nuts. Plug wires back into new element connectors. Tilt back into normal position. Turn water back on check for any leaks and repair if necessary. Turn electricity back on and then slide unit back into original position and replace under counter screws. Test out by running quick cycle wash. It should function normally. During drying cycle open door to be sure it is hot inside. If hot then it is repaired. Let it finish cycle and replace basket. Do not touch hot element as it will burn you.

Took inner door cover off and disconnented old detergent dispense and replaced. Replaced inner door cover. Had a small problem with door latch on dishwasher going back together. Ran dishwasher to see if all was ok. 45 Minutes total.

After watching the video on your website (very handy!) - I followed it and realized I didn't have to take it completely appart to get to the broken part. Therefore only taking seconds to remove sliding top rack and getting up to the spinner to install new part! :)

Open the door and let it all the way down. Take the (4)T-15 torx head screws out of the door along each side. It is not necessary to take the (6) screws out of the upper control panel. The outer door skin will drop down. Raise the door and then pull the outer door skin up and set it aside. remove the (6) 7MM/3/16" screws, plastic flap,and the flanges from the dispenser. Remove the 2 wires noting the color codes and locations. There is a assembly clip on the dispenser. pry the clip up and pull the dispenser out of the door. reverse steps for assembly.

I watch the video as I replaced the worn out wheels. Unbelievable easy. The parts arrived the day after I ordered them. Fast

Food chopper ( plastic splines and plastic splines on motor worn down) motor replace. Bad thing is my motor was good and had to buy new motor because the $20 part comes with motor. But all in all easy fix. Never even turn off the water but did unplugged the electric. PS. Did tell wife it wasn't a garbage disposal. O she takes care of dishes, doesn,'t trust me too do them.

(1) Remove lower 6-torx screws around outer inside edge of door (you do not need to remove the top torx screw as they house the control assembly. (2) Remove the outer door panel seperating it from the inside door insulation. (3) Locate the detergent dispenser and remove 6 hex screws, 2 solenoid wires and additional connector on the top right of the dispenser (rinse cycle). (4) If applicable, tape the connector you removed to the dishwasher panel as it will not be used with the new dispenser. (5) Insert the new detergent dispenser, making sure that it fits properly so that it does not leak. (5) Connect the solenoid wires. (6) With the front door panel still removed run through one wash cycle to ensure that there are no leaks around the dispenser. (7) When you are sure that there are no leaks, reinsert the door panel and tighten the torx screws.

the repair was difficult for us because we did not have the proper tools to remove the door panel screws and the soap dispenser. This is a job for an experienced do-it-yourselfer or for someone who wants to learn. we were successful after 2 trips to the hardware store and watching the Youtube video.

unplug washer.removed front cover, move control panel slightly. Cut and strip wires on existing unit. Pay close attention to shielding orientation when snapping new unit in place.

Pretty straight forward ...if you have torex bits/drivers then you will probably have what it takes. The install video is perfect for showing you haw to swap the grinder. most lower spray bars are mounted using a CCW thread on the pivot..so be aware!! If your motor is being replaced, leave that out before you swap the motor. Motor swap out took minutes once I had disconnected the various pipes and pulled the washer from under the counter. Easy ! Lubing the rubber seal on the motor with rinse aid made this part easy..good tip. The video shows how to install the grinder (the needle nose pliers is a good trick). Make sure there are no leaks underneath before you put everything back! The "hardest" part of the entire job was removal/reattachment of the water feed nut! I used a basin wrench for this. Who ever installed my dishwasher chewed up the drain hose rubber end fitting so it took a few goes to get it to grab and seal properly, check yours when you order the other bits...cheap insurance!

After finding out how to replace it (on YouTube)the repair went smoother than anticipated. the difficulty was disconnecting/connecting the electrical(BX to electric hook-up to dishwasher) due to the proximity of where it was located(~1" from the floor). Other than that, the unit now works as good as the 1st day when it was bought(~6yrs ago)

Using a Torx screwdriver, I removed the fasteners holding the control panel/latch section of the door on the dishwasher. I tested the high limit thermostat with a multimeter. Just two terminals, one being power in, the other power out. The part had what I have heard call a "high resistance open". In other words, the power was not getting from "A" to "B". Power in - not out. After cutting power to the unit, I removed the part (just pull it out of the retaining clip and pull the terminals from the part). After receiving the part...by the way, really fast delivery...I reconnected the part (it doesn't matter which wire goes where), pushed the part back into the retaining clip, replaced and fastened the control panel, then restored power to the unit. Runs like new.
