GU1200XTLB3 Whirlpool Dishwasher - Instructions

It was good.

I put this unit in about 3 years ago and the brackets broke at the crease and the dishwasher fell forward. Found the right bracket and when it arrived looked a match. Checked link to video showing how to properly install the brackets. The original manufacturer never stated that the tab that goes through the frame is supposed to be bent 90 degrees to prevent the bracket from coming out. Thank you PartSelect for that video because I would probably end up ordering brackets again in a few years.

Having previously viewed your video, I removed the two stops on the support bar, slid out the rack, quickly removed the broken parts and replaced them with new parts, reassembled everything and was done in less that 5 minutes. Thanks for the product and how to do the repair. Oh yeah, the missus is very, very happy and has commented on how nice it is to have rack working as it should.

twist filler hose assembly to the side and slide hose in. place clamps on hose and attach to water supply and valve.

Turned off water to dishwasher and disconnected hot water and drain hoses. Removed to side screws and kick panel and pulled dishwasher from under counter. Removed old drain hose and fed the new one over to the drain. Reconnected the hot water and new drain hose. Pushed dishwasher under cabinet and screwed to cabinets. Ran the dishwasher and checked for leaks. Replaced kick panel.

Removed top cover on door ( 6 Screwsw ) Removed cover over electronic board. Tested fuse with tester and had no current flowing through fuse. Easy test!!! Video was a big help. Replaced fuse and washer ran great and still is.

I removed old hose and replaced it with a new one and reinstalled the dishwasher.

I checked on line and found evidence that my problem most likely was the failure of the circulation Pump Motor. I ordered the motor from Parts Select. When it arrived, a small section of the housing was damaged. I called for a replacement. The customer service agent was very helpful and the replacement arrived in less than 24 hours. I followed the video provided on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjRxJy2IUE8 and the one on PartSelect. Both videos helps provide greater clarity for the whole job. The hardest part of the replacement was disconnecting and reconnecting the water supply line. These were my steps. 1. I turned off the electrical power and water supply. 2. I removed the screws holding the dishwasher to the counter top. 3. I removed the two screws holding the bottom access panel. 4. I moved the dishwasher out about one foot and disconnected the water supply line. (Fortunately I didn't have to disconnect the power supply and drain hose because there was enough slack in these lines.) 5. I moved the dishwasher all the way out from the counter and moved it over on the its side. 6. I removed the bolt holding the motor and the motor shield. 7. I removed the connector supplying power to the motor and removed the motor. 8. I removed the inside screen, cleaned and replaced it. I also wiped the other surfaced with a clean rag to ensure a proper seal for the motor. 9. I also applied vasaline to the rubber grommet on the motor to ensure against leaks. 9. I aligned the arrows on the new motor housing and impeller housing and installed the motor as shown in the videos. 10. I reinstalled the motor shield and retaining bolt. 11. I reconnected the water supply, stood the dishwasher upright, turned on the water supply and found I needed to tighten the water supply connection a little more to stop a minor leak. 12. I ran the dishwasher through a rinse cycle to ensure it worked properly and that there were no leaks around the newly installed motor. 13. I reinstalled the dishwasher under the counter top, reinstalled the screws holding it to the counter top and replaced the lower access panel. While this took me a few hours, it was well worth the effort because a repair person wanted $500 to do the job. Thus, I saved well over $300 after paying for the motor. Removed lower spinner and bracket tube in rear of washer. Unscrewed the four screws that hold the pump cover. removed pump cover then unscrewed the two screws that cover the water intake port of the pump. One cover is hard to lift out. The best way is to use an L shaped tool like an Allen wrench and lift it out. Once thats out you see the filter with the cutter blades. Be careful those blades are sharp and will cut you. Removed old filter and installed new one. Make sure you line up the edges. Its not completely round but instead has small cutouts on each side that help it fit tight in the lower piece. Once you get yours you'll see what I mean. Take your time fitting the cover back on as the filter tends to move a bit and it can be difficult to line it up.

Unscrewed the old panel. Change insulation to new panel and screwed on new panel.

Removed rust from racks using a dremel and sanding attachments. Used white dishwasher rack paint to cover sanded areas. Replaced missing dishwasher caps. Replaced severely rusted plate rack which couldn't be sanded and painted. This repair was easy, but the rusted areas of the rack have to be sanded down to bare metal before the paint is applied. The paint gives off strong fumes, so racks need to be painted outside or in an area that has lots of ventilation.

I unfortunatly removed the whole base assembly to replace this motor. I wasn't sure what the original cause was. After watching your video I would have followed it and it would have been easier. All went well with not leaks and now we can sleep with the dishwasher on. Thanks

Removed the dishwasher from under the counter, disconnected the copper water tubing, placed it upside down, removed the old pump and replaced with new. The only iffy situation is making sure the copper tubing doesn't kink when removing the dishwasher and putting it back into the cabinet. Very simple, my husband can fix anything. Your video was very helpful as well.
