After watching a YouTube video I was able to determine that my ice sensor was working properly. I was getting water through the door dispenser so I decided to pull the icemaker. First I removed the 2 hex head screws holding the ice door which gave me access to the icemaker. I removed the hex head screw holding the electrical plug cover on the bottom right side and removed it. I then pushed up on a plastic tab on the bottom left side of the ice maker and slid the icemaker out so I could access the electrical connection. After unplugging the electrical harness(plug/socket) I completely removed the icemaker from the freezer. The white square end cover easily pulled off the icemaker exposing the control and motor assembly. After removing the 3 screws holding the assembly on I pulled the assembly off the end of the icemaker. Installation was as simple as assembling the parts in reverse order making sure that the ice delivery male shaft "flat" mated with the "flat" on the motor drive female socket. After reassembly I went for a bike ride and when I returned about 3 hrs. later I was happy to see my icemaker was making ice again. This is actually easier than it sounds if you have any mechanical apptitude whatsoever.

I saw the question listed on your website with your recommended part to repair. Instead of ordering a whole new ice maker I took the chance and ordered the recommended part for repair. I saw the video and when the part came it was really easy to replace. I only wish I had found your website earlier and not gone without ice for as long as I did. Thanks.

I unscrew a screw underneath the icemaker unit and disconnect the wire clip and pull out the icemaker assembly. I remover 3 screw from the motor assembly unit and replaced it with the new motor assembly. and installed the unit back in the compartment. It took about twenty min. Turn the unit OFF - Removed one hex head screw on the bottom of the ice maker, removed the cable cover and unplugged. Removed front cover & Slide the icemaker out. Removed control cover and removed the three phillips head screws to the controller. Put the new controller back on with the three phillips head screws, pushed the cover back over the controller. Plugged the unit back in, then slide it back in the tracks, put the cable cover back on and installed the hex head screw, popped the front cover back on and turned the unit ON - DONE!

My dad and I worked together. The video helped but it was a little more complicated. If you can't find the water supply, remove the filter and water should stop, that's what we did. We had to remove the freezer door for access to the ice maker. It was tricky taking the icemaker off and getting it back on. Replacing the motor was easy, just as shown in the video. Just like others have said, within an hour of the repair the ice starting coming!

My Ice maker has been broken since August 2011. I called my son in law, which is very handy, he looked at the broken ice maker, said he had no clue how to fix it, since its computerized. Searched the internet, found Part select website, watched videos, read customers feed back, based on information provided, ordered icemaker Control and Motor Assembly (less than $60.00), called my Son in Law, in less than 10 Minutes, part was installed. The next morning the Ice bin was full. I am so greatful for your Website, and my wonderful son in law.
