Had appliance tech diagonise the problem as the ice maker module, and told me the complete ice maker was no longer available and the module alone would cost $460. Found this complete unit online ordered it and watched installation video 4 or 5 times and installed it in less than ten minutes. I had ice in 30 minutes.

Followed recommendations from others but went with most likely by percentage = defrost timer kit. Did not solve issue. Then went with bi-metal thermostat and that did not fix the problem. Tested the thermostat as recommended on line and old part was bad, new part ok. Then I saw on line that I should have listened for fan operation. I checked and found the fan motor to be defective. Replaced the motor and refrigerator worked fine. Both the motor and bi-metal thermostat were required. Should have checked fan operation first.

I followed along with the Video from the web site. I used the masking tape to keep the electric parts out of the way. one of the attaching points for the new ice door broke off so i used J B Weld to reattach it. then the repair was finished with out a hitch. The time was extended by the need to wait for the epoxy to cure

It was fairly easy my 4 year old daughter helped me, I replaced the electronic boards with ease, the light worked but the water was not coming to the ice maker I checked the line noticed that there was Ice buildup inline so I used a tool to crush the ice and used the the turkey baster to flush the line with hot water, after that the ice maker started to work I saved a lot of money.

The ice dispensor guid went in very quickly - just as the video indicated. The rear, side stays were a little tight, but it now works great. The plastic bracket holder for the water and ice switches had broken holders for the ice switch. The video was very clear, and disconnecting the electric above the door made the job easier. My arrangement is a little different from the video (no screws holding the outside cover no the inside bracket box). But, the repair went quickly and I would have had a lot of extra problems without the video as a clear and detailed guide. My only wish was to have seen the videos before purchasing the parts. My handyman did the repair. It was pretty easy for him. It would have been a real puzzle if we had not watched the video instructions. The new parts were slightly different than the old parts, but they fit perfectly. I thawed the frost buildup around the ice door and the opening of the ice bin with a hair drier, to get the ice to come out properly. Thank you so much for the video!

the bi metal defrost thermostat was the problem when i saw the parts i click on it you will see the diagram of the section where the parts located you will also given a video how to removed and replaced the parts these people make it so good for appliance owner i actually fixed my washing machine was not working i trouble shoot the model and go with the highest percentage parts to fixed the problem with this web i am going to keep my appliance for years there is maintenance care product

This was not a through the door unit. The water dispenser is located inside the refrigerator. Unplug the refrigerator. Remove the two screws holding the cover over the dispenser parts. Could not remove the cover completely as there is a water supply line attached. Let the front of the cover down as far as you can get it. The micro switch is reachable. Move plastic retaining posts holding the switch in place, to the side to release the switch. This can be done with your fingers. Pop the switch out. Use the blade of the screw driver to gently pry the electrical connection plug away from the switch. Attach the new switch to the plug and put everything back in the reverse order of disassembly. Done, easy, even I could do it.

Removed the access door in freezer. Unplugged auger. Removed the four screws and installed the new auger motor. So easy the ice didn't even melt!

Google refrigerator Model #, found your site, saw parts diagram right away, clicked on part 'Ice Door Kit', noticed your video on how to do repair yourself, showed it to my husband, ordered part, and it arrived the next day. That was the hardest part of the whole repair. I have been without use of the ice dispenser for about 9 months - took 20 minutes from opening box to getting ice again and saved myself a whole lot of money. I am one happy camper!!!

Job went as per your terrific video. Except that when attempting to retrieve the old heater element the glue on the old door was no long pliable. I had to literally tear the old foam apart to get at the heater element and almost damaged it. Not to worry. It worked out well and all is great. Thanks for the very instructive video.

Replaced the start relay in about 5 minutes and plugged the fridge in and it started working. Easy repair to get fridge working again.

removed the damaged unit and inserted the replacement.

Openned both doors and removed lower grille. Closed doors and placed a piece of wood underneath door. The piece of wood slightly taller so that it supports and lifts the door while I worked. Working at the bottom of the door removed both upper and lower plastic cams and replaced with new ones. Be sure to tighten the single screw that holds down the plastic cam; if you leave them loose they will split/crack because they will move as you operate the door.
