GD5PHAXMS10 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

I did remove the run capacitor of the starthing kit of compressor and another one new. It work fine.

I followed the instructions given by your demonstration. I took the back screw off, dropped the wire plastic cover. I then used the screwdriver to push the two (2)slots in and pulled the icemaker out and then unplugged it. I believe unplugging it was a little hard because the plug was pretty well sealed together and frozen. After finally getting the plug apart I then pulled the icemaker fully out. After pulling the cover off and putting it on the new one per your demonstration, I then inserted it back in. I stuck my hand behind the icemaker and bent the hose with my index finger and thumb so that it would drop into the water tray and then slid the icemaker back in until it snapped back in the slots. I then put the plug cover back on and reinserted the screw. I forgot to mention taking the front cover off before removing the icemake and reinserting it after replacing the icemaker. I would highly suggest customers follow your demonstration, it paid off well. I watched it about 8 times before I received the icemaker in the mail. Oh by the way water started flowing into the icemaker with 4 minutes and ice started coming out in about 30 minutes. As the icemaker got colder it started producing the ice faster. It's a sweet sound hearing the ice drop into the container.

Removed door, removed both upper and lower cam and replaced, applied small amount of vasoline and replaced the door. The entire repair took less than 5 minutes. Door works great. When replacing the cam you need to replace both the upper and lower cam. When you order the parts, the upper cam is on the door schematic and the lower cam is on the refrigerator body schematic. I originally only ordered the upper cam.

Unplug regrigerator power cordfrom wall outlet. Using nut driver remove cover from lower back side of refrigerator. Unplug wire connection to fan. Using nut driver remove the four screws holding the fan/bracket assembly. Carefully remove fan/bracket assembly from refrigerator. Using nut driver,remove the old fan from fan bracket. Using nut driver install new fan on fan bracket. Carfefully install new fan/bracket assembly and install the four screws. Plug wire connection to fan (you may need to use adapter supplied with new fan). Reinstall refrigerator lower back cover. Plug refrigerator power cord back into outlet. Note: you may wish to carefully vacuum dust from back of refrigerator before installing back cover. You should also vacuum dust from front side.

Disconnected power cord, removed rear cover of refrigerator, disconnected pig tail, removed 4 housing screws, took three mount screws out and removed old fan. Reversed steps, plugged in and complete repair done.

Turn off water supply then Remove the dispencer trim by putting a flat screw driver into the slots at ths lower edge of trim and push down on trim as you pry the trim out and remove trim. Remove two screws holding the controls and unhook the far right connector and push to the side to get to old line,unhook the connecter at the bottom of door and remove compression nut from old line,remove the screw holding the old line in place and remove the assembly by pulling up and out. install new metal holder into slot and install screw to hold in place (If you have old style)cut new line at angle (Don't cut but about 1/2 inch off) and push new line down through hole at the bottom of the door where old one was and install the upper end into new metal bracket notch ,reinstall control panel with the two screws that were removed making sure that the controls strike the switches correctly ,reinstall the trim ,cut off the line to the match the connector and install the compression nut and put lines together,turn on water and check for leaks. Test and remove air and job should be complete. (hardest part was getting the trim off with out breaking it, I looked close and found the notches on the bottom)

All I did was removed the stickers and place it in the frame - no tools required. It fit perfectly and is since it is clear (the original one has a grid pattern in it) I can easily see everything in the drawer below. I will be more careful in cleaning this one - apparently the temperature difference from cool to warm caused it to break, so I will just wipe this one down rather than submerging it in water.

Once it was determined that the icemaker was actually the problem two really good things happened. One, there was a video on the repair process on the web site. I wish I had viewed it before I removed the icemaker because it would have saved me about 10 minutes in that process. Second, I order the part on Friday morning around 10:00 a.m. and then went to the store to buy bag ice to get us through the weekend. On Saturday morning, the part was at my door ... yep, less than 24 hours! Everything was back in working order in about 15 minutes, part of that was my wife taking advantage of the shelf being out to do a little extra cleaning and reorganizing. I took out the icemaker to see if I could find a problem and the ice tray coating was peeling, the tray heater was corroded and so was the motor assembly. I matched the picture on the site to my icemaker, checked the dimensions they gave and it was identical so I ordered it. Install was pretty easy and the icemaker started working within minutes. Thanks!

I watched the video then made the repair it was just like the video said very easy

very easy to install filter. unscrew and screw back in.

It was so easy, one screw to remove the plug cover, slide out unit, unplug, take off bottom by unscrewing 3 screws, place bottom on new unit, plug in, slide in place, replace cover, and let it get cold before turning on icemaker. The video on your site really helped.

Watched the video and realized how easy it really was....followed directions and completed repair in less than 5 min....only issue Fed Ex lost original order....parts person was great...overnighted me a replacement

I started by viewing the video online showing how to make the repair. I then unplugged the fridge, taped the cover of the icemaker up out of the way. It was then a matter of removing three screws on both the emitter and receiver sides of the freezer and two screws each to remove the boards. I uplugged the modular plugs from each board and then reversed the proceedure. Icemaker is now working like new.
