Philips head screwdriver to remove 2 screws holding plastic grill above microwave door in place. Old Filter lifts out slide new filter in. It rests on an angle. Re insert Grill (careful that plastic tabs slide into proper slots). Tighten SCrews read more

The "seal" is a clear plastic sheet that forms the inner most layer of the "window" in the microwave door. If it becomes damaged or doesn't adhere properly, steam and other cooking by-products get inside the door itself. That's what happened in my case. very easy..just use screwdriver to remove lens..be careful, the screw is VERY short so as soon as it loosens, be prepared to catch it ( the screw ) or have something on the stove ( like a plastic bowl ) to catch it if it falls.
