FDB1050REC2 Frigidaire Dishwasher - Instructions

I started to disassemble the machine from the inside, and discovered that I should have started from the bottom...At least now I know how to get to all the parts...I had to remove a couple of parts to get to the problem. Because the replacement part was slightly different than the original, It took some rearranging to get the hoses and wires to connect(original was mounted at 45 degree angle, replacement at 90)

Pulled out machine to work in a comfortable position. Simple removal and replacement. Part arrived quickly. Back in business in less than a week. My kind of no hassle repair.

Remove the old one. Pull apart the handles apart and then up. To install the new one simply place it on the water supply hole and press gently until you hear one click. That's it! Now the dishwasher is back to perfection.

Ordered a new door seal and replaced, very easy to do but did not fix the leak. Before you order and replace your door seal check your spray arms. Our bottom arm was melted by the drying element and was allowing water to spray directly at the door causing the leak. Replaced bottom spray arm and leak is fixed.

I looked at some of the installation comments and just followed their lead. It was a breeze!

Pulled out the old rack and rolled in the new rack. No tools required. The best part was I ordered it one day and it arrived the next! I was very pleased by that.

Pulled upper dishrack out of washer. Used finger to pull forward on the tabs of the rail retainer pieces on each side of the rack, with minimal effort used. Pulled the retainer pieces out of metal rack by pulling straight up on each side, with minimal effort used. Pulled upper dishrack completely out of dishwasher and laid it on countertop. Squeezed retainer tabs on the cap of the upper dishrack spray assembly, and the top came off with minimal effort. Unscrewed the plastic retainer nut exposed by taking off the cap, keeping the spray assembly from moving so that the nut could come completely off of the spray assembly. Lifted the upper dishrack up, and the spray assembly fell out. The spray assembly bushing plate was left on the upper dishrack, and the dishrack had to be turned upside down at this point. With a straight head screwdriver, the retaining vertically oriented clips, facing upward at this point, are separated with the screwdriver, while applying gentle pressure to the bushing plate (downward toward the counter, as the upper dishrack is upside down at this point) with the other hand. Once the plate releases from the upper dishrack, it will fall to the counter with ease. Be careful not to break the clips, or you will be buying another part at this point. At this point, discard the old upper dishrack, and bring the new upper dishrack to the countertop, leaving it rightside up, noting that the wheels of the upper dishrack are supposed to be in the back. Take the bushing plate that was just removed, and place it onto the rack in the same orientation that it assumed on the old dishrack. This time, start with the horizontally oriented clips, and have them grab the left side of the rack where the bushing plate is going to be located. The horizontally oriented clips simply fit around the contact points, and do not have to be snapped on. On the other hand, once the left side is clipped, then you will have to push on the right side of the bushing plate to get the vertically oriented pins to snap around the contact points. This will take a little effort, but will be a lot easier than the step above to get those vertically oriented pins to disengage the old upper dishrack. Once the bushing plate is attached, then put the spray assembly back into the bushing plate, entering the bushing from below the upper dishrack. Keep the new upper dishrack rightside up through this whole process. Once the spray assembly is in the bushing, then put the plastic nut back onto the spray assembly, tightening it with hand pressure only until it can not be tightened any more. The spray assembly will have to be kept from moving during this process. Then, replace the cap of the spray assembly, and this may require that you place the cap on the assembly, and actually pull out on the cap tabs in order for it to lock onto the spray assembly bushing. Once this is done, the new upper dishrack is guided into the dishwasher on the rails, with the wheels oriented toward the back. Once completely inside the rails, take each of the rail retainer clips, and place them through the openings from the top. Once seated correctly, with the inner piece fully through the top and bottom holes of each rail, then simply snap the cover pieces to the bottom of the retainer clips. They should snap on very easily. At this point, the repair is complete. Good luck!!!

1.) Unscrewed 6 screws from behind control panel cover. 2.) Removed control panel and let dangle from wires. 3.) Removed 2 torx screws holding latch in place. 4.) Turned off electrical circuit to diswasher. Pulled electrical connections from latch assembly. 5.) Secured new latch assembly with torx screws. 6.) Put electrical connections on new latch assembly. 7.) Put control panel back on with 6 phillips head screws. 8.) Turned electrical back on and tested latch

Well I had to take the door apart as I could not get the gasket in the track without taking off front.

I unbolted the diswahser from the cabinet, slid it forward about 6", removed two small screws, switched the new part (better made than original-not a cast part)for the old and buttened evrything back up. Works like a charm.

Wrap your pliers in some kind of padding so you don't damage the plastic. Spin the base ( not the spinner itself) which is left-threaded(normal). If the gasket doesn't fall out (mine did) pull it out gently. Clean the gasket socket with a rough cloth or scotch-brite pad and install the new one. Put it all back together and wash dishes, man.

The video was a tremendous help, and the video included in the final email was a stroke of genious, in that when it came time to make the repair, a review of the repair came in handy, to say the least. We are very satisfied. . Ps. The leake is fixed

Replaced the water inlet valve by laying on the floor. Being it was at the front left, it was easy to get too. Being a plumber by trade I knew to turn the water off at the valve, and unplug the electrical connection. The new one went on the same way the old one came off, really simple. By the way, the call in order went really great and I got the new one in two days. Thanks again, Fred Lavergne

I initialy took the arm off, and took it to the store where I bought it. The store referred me to their website, which means not only did I leave the store empty handed, I was still on my own to get the right part. I tried the 800 number for the recommended site, and was put on hold(waiting time 22 minutes). I shopped the internet and found that Part select was almost half the cost, and shipped faster. I entered the part number, placed my order and had the part in three days (I counted the Sunday I placed the order). The piece snapped into place, no tools required, and yippee! my dishwasher was working like new in under 10 days for less than the cost of a movie with popcorn!!! I will definitely use this site again, and will recommend it to anyone needing a part.
