The plug-in is getting hot and the breaker on it does not trip. Wondering if you would know the reason why.

Hi Clifton, Thank you for your question. According to your owner's manual, "The complete electrical rating of your new room air conditioner is stated on the serial plate. Refer to the rating when checking the electrical requirements. • Be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards. • Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle. • Do not run air conditioner with outside protective cover in place. This could result in mechanical damage within the air conditioner. • Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug." If you require more information, you will need to contact Frigidaire. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
