Bake element made slightly different than original. The non removabal metal plate to cover opening for wires at the oven rear was to small. Had to fabricate cover with sheetmetal with holes in it for the elements conductors to go thru.

The bottom heating element was burned out and needed to be replaced.
1. Pull out all the cooking racks for best access. 2. Remove the two hex head screws at the bottom back of the oven cavity that hold the element. 3. Gently pull the element out towards you. The electrical prongs will slide out from the insulation. Pull them just far enough to clear the electrical connections. The connections slide off the ends - use a pliers or needle nose as they fit tightly. 4. Snap the electrical contacts on to the new element, then feed them back into the back of the stove cavity. 5. Replace the hex head screws.

replace heating element
It was so easy I can't believe in the past I would have called Sears because I have such a" no handy man" gene in my body person. I saved over $150.00 by doing it myself. Took out eight screws, pulled the old heating element out, replaced the old with the new, put eight screws back, put the range back in place, plugged it in, turned it on and walla, done deal. Less then 10 minutes, I swear

Broken oven Bake Element
Removed the 2 screws that hold the element in place in the oven. Pulled on the element to expose the wires. At this point the element which was initially just cracked ,broke completely appart ,at the crack into 2 pieces. (Confirmed obvious element failure lol..) Ordered a new element and decided to just plug in the range so as to be able to use the stove till it arrived. Blue sparks and now no power at all to the stove. frustrated at my ignorance I go out side and check the breaker. It seemed ok,so now i worry about a blown fuse. I took the back panels off with appropriate socket and cant find a fuse..JUST GREAT!! i notced a burn mark where the wire connects to the element and figured out that it shorted because it was touching the inside of the oven ..I had not pushed it back flush. I found out how to simply slip the connector off of the element with the back open and now pushed the element back in place. I taped the wires with electrical tape so they would not short on anything, checked the breaker again and turned it off for a second..then back on. This time when i plugged the range back in I had power..whew what a relief!! When the new element arrived it took 10 minutes to take the 2 screws back out ,swap in the new element and slide on the wires to the connectors. I reinstalled the backing plate ,and put the 2 screw back in to hold the element. Problem solved!!

The bake element went out in the oven.
First I turned the breaker off. Then I unscrewed the 2 nuts for the bottom burner. Disconnecting the one plug was easy, but when I unplugged the other one, the electrical cord sprung back up into the oven. That is what took so long, getting the cord from inside the oven. Thankfully I hve small fingers so it didn't take too long. I then connected the electrical cords to the new burner. Finally, I screwed in the nuts.

Baking element caught on fire...after 6years
Repair was easy. 1. Turn off the electric to range. 2. very carefully remove the door(makes it real easy to access inside the oven.) 3. remove the 2 screws but be careful. 4. remove the two push on teminals. 5. The wires are very very short so they snapped back into the back of unit. 6. pulled out range and took off the 5 screws holding the small metal piece protecting all electrical wires...7. found the two terminal wires and push them on new terminal leads. 8. screwed the elements two screws back in, 9. replaced the small back with the 5 screws. 10. cleaned the floor behind the range and pushed it back in place.... DONE.... element works fine...tested it. however not cooking with oven today with temps outside at 104-105 ...will wait till it gets a little cooler... but all in all it was a piece of cake.....

broken light socket
The only tool needed was a nutdriver to remove the lamp socket. I needed my head mounted light to see what I was doing, and everything went smoothly from there. Simple job.

oven wasn't heating
after reading instructions on this site , i knew to take the 2 screws out of the element in the rear of the oven. As soon as i saw the wires i put the clamps on them so they wouldn't fall back into the wall of the oven, then i just pulled off the old element and pushed on the new. Put screws in with nut driver and turned power back on.
