This Whirlpool dishwasher is making a grinding noise during wash cycle, an intermittent humming noise during rinse and will not drain. Any advice?

It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty drain and impeller PS382822 and/or possibly a malfunctioning drain check valve PS382661 you should check the part(s) for signs of damage, and replace the part(s) as needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Removed spray arm thumb nut. Removed spray arm. replaced worn and broken earings and re-assembled in reverse order. Would have done the repair a lot sooner if I had known that PartsSelect was just a few miles up the highway.
Installed new door seal. Dishwasher still leaked. Googled the model number and then cleaned the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher, still leaked. Verified that manifold bearing was not work. It was OK. Found note that a plugged vent might cause leaking door. Very counterintuitive. Pried off air vent cover. Vent was tho
... Read moreuroughly plugged with calcium deposts from steam. Cleaned these out. Dishwasher no longer leaks.
