DBXR453EA1WW General Electric Dryer - Instructions

The part was shipped quickly and I received it within the week. I was afraid that because it is an older dryer the new handle would not be compatible, but it was! It installed easily, it only took a few seconds to clip it in and now it's as good as new!

I watched a video on PartSelect.com, opened up the dryer (that's the first time I had opened a dryer), found that the bearing was worn down, ordered the replacement parts for under $40, and fixed the dryer in just a few minutes. The whole process was much easier than I expected. I should have done it weeks ago.

At first I thought it was the belt but when I took off top portion of dryer I saw belt was fine. I got to this site and found source of noise was drum bearings from postings. I ordered the parts and much to my suprise had it working with 15 minutes. Web site was very helpful.

I opened the box which contained the new selector knob. Placed it on my dryer and immediately turned the knob to start the dryer. Easy steps to follow the video supplied when i ordered the part. I am greatful you responded to my order within 3 days. Thanks

Watched video first, then diagnosed trouble. Went to internet for cost and avalible parts. Copied parts diagram. Very pleased with price and orderd parts assosiated with front drum. 4 days later parts arrived.

Thanks to the Part Select YouTube videos, I was able to determine how to disassemble the dryer without having to spend much time trying to fixure that evolution out, and I was pretty much able to troubleshoot what the potential problems (and fixes) were via the various Part Select videos (drum slide(s) install, bearing install). The only part that took a bit of time to install was the drum rear bearing. It is an easy install, but it was helpful to have my son hold the bearing from the back (outside) of the drum while I tighten the screws from the inside of the drum. Again, watching the Part Select videos beforehand is a must!

Had to tap three holes in the rear bearing to match the three attachment screws. Screw up with the part.

I initially thought it was the clothes causing an imbalance, however upon further inspection I found the front felt bearing was shredded and missing, thus the loud noise.I retrieved my GE owners manual and went online, there I found the link to PartSelect. I found PartSelect was absolutely user friendly and even had DIY videos on the replacement, genius!I was able to order the parts I needed that night, and they were shipped to my doorstep within 3 days,unbelievable!I was able to make the repair quickly and safely.I plan to use PartSelect in the future, and recommend them to people I know.Thanks again

Disconnected the power removed 4 screws from top panel. Removed 2 wires, turned switch counter clockwise. remopved switch. Replaced with new switch,connected the 2 wires, put panel back inplace,put screws back in panel,plugged dryer back in. SUPER SIMPLE Total time 5 minutes

open dryer door . removed 2 screw holding top down. removed top of dryer. removed 2 screws holding front of dryer and carefully (because of wired connection) opened front and set by the side. cleaned front and bottom of dryer. removed old dryer slide (snaps in) put drum bearing and drum slide on new dryer slide and sapped back into place, carfully removed old felt (taking note of how it was installed) and relced with new felt. re-assembled dryer and tested - No more noise ! Parts arrived well in time, exactly what was needed. The latch was a snap-in process. The strike require gentile use of a pliers, and went in quickly. Thanks!

Parts arrived and it took me less than 5 minutes to get the packaging open and install the knew timer knob. I had ordered a separate D-ring; however, one was already present in the timer knob so now I have an extra.

I didn't do it, my husband did all the work. He showed me which parts he thought was making the noise, which was kind of obvious. The small drum slide was melted, or something, it was gone. So we first ordered 1 slide and drum bearing, which fixed the noise, but he noticed the other drum slides were "gone" so I ordered another 2 of those. The dryer is back to its old self, not making any noise. We really didn't know what the problem was until looking on the site and seeing the most common problem, and luckily we got it fixed. I was ready to buy another new dryer.....good thing hubby wanted to work on it before buying....saved tons of cash.
