Loud squeaking when drying
GE Gas Dryer. Read your problem solutions very carefully. My machine was squeaking in the front area. It was the front bearing. Make sure you order the large front bearing and the 2 sets of small plastic bearings. Dryer now works great. Problem solved in about 1 hour. It would have taken less time but the dryer is ina really cramped place. Thanks you saved me $700. That is great for $47.00 worth of parts.

The dryer was making a horrible squeaking noise.
Removed 2 screws and removed the top of the dryer. Removed 2 more screws under the top that was removed to take off the front door panel. Replace drum bearing which is just plastic and the new one snapped right into place. Install 4 drum slides which simply attach by a hole in each slide to the drum bearing. Reassembled with the 4 screws and the dryer sounds as good as new!! Thanks for an exact match on all the parts, it made the job very easy!

Dryer squealing and clothes getting hung up inside door.
I researched dryer repairs on Google and was pretty sure the drum support was worn out after all I read. It made sense as to why clothing, especially anything with string, was getting "caught" right inside the door and coming out with black marks. I printed a basic set of instructions on taking an electric dryer apart, and sure enough, the drum slides and the front drum support were worn out and rubbed slick. I ordered two new drum slides, a new felt gasket and a new front drum support from partselect and hung my clothes outside to dry while waiting on the parts to ship. The replacement of the parts was quite simple, but it would have been easier still had I had something to support the drum while I had the dryer door open. I am not a repair person by any means, I'm a meat cutter, but was determined to make the repair. Patience, a medium sized phillips head and straight head screwdrivers were all it took. The parts arrived within the promised time frame and the dryer is quiet and back in full use! I also wanted to make sure it was safe to use and had my engineer husband check it out before using it again, and he was impressed at my handy work! Ladies, jump right in and have faith in your ability!!!

noisy as bearing were worn out
My hats off to you guys, you are the only site I have come across that gives whatif analysis as well as what parts will be needed. This is helpful for novice people like me. May I suggest you add a video on how to do it ? I have seen sites especially that sell car parts doing this. Good luck.

Squeaky and serious drum vibration when running
Unplugged dryer. Safety first. Removed 2 screws in side the door opening so I could remove the top. Removed 2 screws to remove dryer front panel. Snapped off the old drum bearing and lower guide after disconnecting electric wires. Removed and replaced old felt on lower guide and snapped back in place. Snapped front drum bearing into place.Remember to reoplace the wires back onto their connector pins. Installed new slides by hooking end with small hole over pin on right side of front drum bearing and inserting other end into slot. Green slide on top 2 slots and white on each side slots. Hooked electric wires back up. Replaced frotn panes and screws. Replaced top and screws. Plugged dryer back in and test ran. All was quiet and running smoothly. Loade a large load of wet clothes. Dryer ran like new. Added up savings of over $500.00. Took wife out to eat and a movie with some of savings instead of buying new dryer. Wife now happy. All in family now happy. I'm her Hero. Thanks PartSelect.

Dryer would light, but not sustain a flame
I have a whirlpool gas dryer. My dryer all of a sudden would not heat up. I diagnosed the problem and discovered that it would light (using the peep hole in the front) when the dryer was cold, but once warm, the flame would go out. I bought a cheap multimeter and tested all the themostats on the back of the unit after removing the back panel. All the thermomstats checked out except the cycling thermostat which should no signal through one of the connections (purple wires). I ordered a new thermo and replaced the old one but it didn't fix the problem. Seems that there isn't a current between the purple connections.... Since the flame did light when the unit was cold I figured it wasn't the ignitor so it was either the flame sensor or the coils. I took the top and front panels off (alot easier than I thought; see videos) and checked the flame sensor with my multimeter. It was fine. Only thing left was the coils, so I ordered a set. IF YOU NEED COILS, SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND ORDER THE PAIR. YOU GET BOTH COILS FOR < HALF THE PRICE IF ORDERING INDIVIDUALLY. Replacing the coils was rather easy. You will need to prop up the drum with something to keep it from impeding your screwdriver. A stubby philips really helped here. Also, since the gas valves are closed when there is no power, there is no need to disconnect the gas line and fuss about a gas leak (This really saved time). Once the two screws for the coil plate were out of the way, the coils simply slide off the valves and unplug easily. NOTE: Make sure you line up the one new coil with plate when you put it back together. It has a little tab that fits into the plate. All-in-all it took about 30-60 minutes to do. If I were to do it again it would probably take 15 minutes. Pretty easy job for a do-it-yourselfer with only basic tools.

Dryer making tremendous grinding noise
I followed the the video from part select. The job is very easy but it is hard to work alone. I took the top off easily and remove the front cover. I removed the drum and the rear bearing, this was also very easy. Installing the new bearing was a bit difficult because of the depth of the drum. However I install a small bolt and nut to hold the bearing in place . I then put 2 screws in. I the remove the bolt and nut and install the third screw. I also install a new belt. Putting it back together was a breeze. Thank you part select I saved a lot of money. The dryer is 21 years old.

My drum gasket needed to be replaced.
The repair was easy. First I took out 2 screws. Then I lifted off the top. Next I unscrewed 2 to take off front. I leaned off the front and reached in got out old gasket. Replacing new gasket went right around top front panel under the clips. Putting front on and returning 2 screws. Then Same for top. Dryer runs and sounds like new. Thank You for your quick mail and easy help?
