I unplugged the dryer then removed 2 Phillips screws from lint trap. Then I popped the top up on each top corner with a screwdriver. I removed the 2 screws holding the front cover. I unclipped the wiring connection and moved the panel. I took out the old belt, put the tensioned back on then put the new belt around the drum and held the drum up with my shoulder then put the belt through the tensioner and put it on the motor spindle by pushing the tensioner back. I put it back together and it worked perfectly. Your video was very helpful. Job was very easy.

The most difficult element of the repair was diagnosing the problem. I use a multi meter and started working through the wiring (referring to the wiring diagram) and found that I had no 'continuity' through the heat fuse and high limit thermostat. Once I had that figured out, everything else was easy. I found the parts, although I could not get a good part number match for the thermostat. The replacement numbers did not agree exactly with the numbers printed on the part. I went forwards anyhow and the actual installation was simple and well documented, Thank You PartSelect. While doing the repair, I took the time to clean the vents of the dryer. I removed the front panel and cleaned lots of lint. I also checked the ducting out the rear of the dryer, shorting the duct to hopefully improve air flow. Everything is working well.

  • Time to Complete: Less than 15 mins

You pop the top of the dryer. Remove to hex screws which allow you to remove the front panel. Next you pull the drum off, snack the belt around the drum, motor and tension pulley and reverse the steps. The hardest part is getting the drum back in place without knocking the belt off the motor.

First of all i googled it on line to see what the problem could be and it took me to this website and there i was able to read what the problem was most likely and (that was a real help) so i ordered the part which was the high limit kit for about $33 including shipping and handling opened up the top of dryer and its right on top didnt take but about 5 minutes to change the part

The dryer would not turn on and power was available.

  • Customer: William F from North Manchester, IN
  • Difficulty: A Bit Difficult

I had to lift up the top of the dryer. Remove the front panel and drum to get the the heating assembly. The instructions that came with the parts were helpful in knowing why and which parts to use (thermal fuse and high temp cut off switch). I replaced the belt as well because I had everything apart. The hardest part was the belt because there is only enough room for one arm and no ability to see only feel.

Male end of door catch broke

  • Customer: George from Hamden, CT
  • Difficulty: Really Easy
  • Time to Complete: 15 - 30 mins
  • Tools Required: Screw drivers
  • 0 of 0 people found this instruction helpful
First, I replaced the male end which was just two screws and simple replacement of pushing the fastener into the door frame. When finished I noticed the female end was damaged as well. Glad the female part came as well. This required taken off the front trim around the door (four screws - 2 each side) and then the door. The installing of the female end was easy with a little push. The damaged female end was already hanging out so easy to grab and remove. Otherwise I would have had to remove the front panel. Note You need to put the door trim back on before reattaching the door.

I followed the instructions you supplied. All went well. The short movie that you supplied was fine but the only tricky part which included placing the belt over the idler wheel was not well done in that the repairman's arm covered the work area. Delivery time was excellent.
