plastic tubing that supplies water to the ice machine cracked
We have cut the broken part and using union connector we connected it back to the original tubing on one side and to the connector at the bottom. It was easily done with great help from the video on file at the site. Keep up a great work PartsSelect !

Lateral split in original 5/16 poly tubing at rear of refrigerator for water dispenser
Located the split in original tubing - only visible when the water dispenser is activated. Using a razor blade knife, cut the tubing 4 to 6 inches on each side of the split. Remove the bad pieceof tubing and use as a length guide to mark the new 5/16 tubing. Install a 5/16 union connector on each end of the new tubing, careful not to overtighten the plastic union hex nuts. Place the new tubing with unions where the bad tubing was, tighten the union hex nuts, and bingo you're done. Left mine setting out for a day to watch for leaks. Took longer to get the two wrenches and pull the fridge out than it did to repair the tubing. This is the only place I found 5/16 unions and tubing in short lengths. Thanks

Worn Out Cams on Bottom Hinges
I replaced both bottom hinges on my GE refrigerator. The hint that they were worn out was that both the freezer door and fresh food door would not close completely. You had to lift the door on the hinge to get it to close. Many of the GE service repair people recommend complete removal of each door to replace the bottom hinge. I found I could use a couple of wood blocks tall enough to take the weight of the door, jacking it up off of the hinge so could loosen the hex head screws. The freezer door hinge took a few minutes longer because the water supply line for the icemaker which is routed through the tube in the hinge. Overall, an easy repair and the cost of two repair visits was saved.

Broken 5/16 line from filter to water tank in fridge
Others have described how to do this repair better. I will simply add - if you're cutting the line inside the fridge to repair/replace be sure to check as their are two (2) clear 5/16th lines. Once goes from the solenoid to the tank inside the fridge and another from the tank up to the filter. They're identical and side by side. Remove the drawers and foam covering the one line to make sure you cut the right one...otherwise you will be ordering a 2nd water tube union like I did.

Water pump for ice maker/cold water dispenser leaking.
Removal of old part was very easy. However, there had been some new changes to the new valve. The prongs on the dispenser solenoid are narrower than the original so the push on connector would not grasp the prong and kept falling off. I finally was able to squash and crimp the pushon enough to make it stay on . Also, the waterline connection was changed from a compression nut with flared tubing end to a much easier cap nut and copper compression ring. This required a trip to the hardware store to buy the cap nut and ring and also required cutting the tubing above the flared end to remove the compression nut. Once this was done, the reassembly was simple. The required time would have been about 20 minutes if I didn't have to go to the store and redisassemble three times to reconnect the water supply solenoid push on..
