UNFORTUNATELY FOR US, IT WASN'T THE DIODE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT WERE GIVEN ON HOW TO DISCHARGE THE CAPACITOR BEFORE WORKING ON THE DIODE, MAGNATRON OR CAPACITOR ITSELF, WAS VERY HELPFUL. YOU DON'T NEED TO BE AND ELECTRICIAN IF YOU CAN FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. OURS ENDED UP BEING THE MAGNATRON. IT TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO SWIRCH OUT. I HAD TO BUY YHE PART THRU ANOTHER SITE, BECAUSE IT WAS $40.00 DOLLARS CHEAPER AND THE PART WAS HERE IN ONE DAY. THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION ON THE REPAIR.

I purchased the necessary mounting bracket and installed it but then found out that the microwave was defective. I was able to return the merchandise to PartSelect without a problem. Will definitey go to Part Select the next time I need replacement parts.

I thought the cover was suppose to come off from the inside of microwave. It is brand new and got bent. So I ordered a new one in case it was not working with a bend in it.
