stove top gas burner ignitor only flicks but does not light burner
If you have a burner that begins to constantly flick without lighting, and/or flicks while you are lighting another burner, it is likely time to order a new ignitor. Once received, we first lifted the burner support rack, then the burner cap, then unscrewed the nut holding the metal bracket that holds the ignitor in place (years ago we had to "soak" the nut with a loosening spray prior to being able to unscrew it, so since then we do not tighten the nuts too tightly so that each nut is easy to unscrew by hand or with pliers if necessary). The previous steps allow one to lift the burner ignitor up and out of its resting hole. It will be connected to the electric wiring via a plastic connector. All one has to do is pull the wiring away from the ignitor and then push it up into the new ignitor. The plastic connector protects you from touching the live ends of the wiring. Voila! The burner lighted successfully.

drain jar lids rusted and broken of their mounts
The lids are fastened to the underside of the unit by rivets....3 to each lid.
I used a cordless drill and small drill bit to drill through the rivets to remove the old lids and remains of the rivets.
The new lids are easily fastened back using a rivet gun ( about $20 in Lowes) using small 1/8th aluminum rivets.
No real problems.
1 thing to note is that the drill bit will pass through the old rivet by about 1/4 inch before it comes up against the upper level of the BBQ floor so do not drill any deeper. The aluminum rivets are easy to drill through and you will easily feel when the rivet is drilled through.

Griddle "infinite switch" bad and large burner gas valve
turn off gas,
disconnect gas line from stove
remove stove from countertop (gravity held it down - so don't bother pulling out a bunch of screws yet)
move to table
remove stove facia - 4 small screws
loosen large reverse pressure bolds (3/8 socket)
once the facia is removed - you will have access to all switches and gas burners.
the replacemnt of the two switches was simple.
reverse process to re install.
I had my 12 year old there to hold the stove up in a balanced position - it made it much easier - that third hand helps!
