All Installation Instructions for Jenn-Air Cooktop C301-C

The switch for the fan on ourrange failed.

First I turned off the power to the appliance. Then I took off the face plate where the switch and burner controls are mounted (took off 2 screws). Pulled the assembly out as far as wiring would allow and removed the two wires from the switch followed by removing the two nuts that hold the switch in place.
I reversed the process to install the new switch, turned the power back on and that was that.

vent fan cloging up

old filter fell into from removing and cleaning,
removed cover pulled out filter ,replaced it with new one.

The switch didn't control the heat range

Took the front panel off by removing 4 screws. Then remove the switch by loosing the nut hold it. Then replace the wire on the new the way they were on the old switch. Put the panel back on.

Filter needed replacement. Old one was falling apart.

Removed old filter, dropped in the new one.
(This really was not a "repair")

Old filter couldn't be cleaned

This was a no-brainer: old filter out, new filter in. In addition to replacing an old, greasy filter, I found that the exhaust fan now draws cooking fumes much more efficiently. So why did I wait the 6 years since we moved into this house to do this???

Numbers on original stove top had become unreadable due to age and needed to be replaced

I originally ordered the knobs that appeared to be an exact match for the ones on the stove top (Part # PS1515077). However those knobs are designed to fit on D post stems. I finally ordered PS48861 which are designed to fit double flat post stems which is what I have on my stove top. New parts fit perfectly. Remove old knobs put new ones on. Total repair time less than one minute. Part Select was great about getting the original parts and replacement to me quickly.
