the dishwasher door spring link broke.
First we removed the screws that held the dishwasher in place. After pulling the dishwasher out, we could see the spring lying on the ground. (Usually only one breaks at a time so you can see where it goes and how it is hooked up on the one still in place.) We removed the broken link, which is made of plastic and rope, then we hooked the link on the spring and rehooked the spring in the back of the dishwasher. The next step took two people, one person had to hold the spring with tension on it while the other manuvered it around the wheels and then hooked that end up. Push back the dishwasher and replace the screws that hold it in place.

Door drop open.
I only need to replace a piece of plastic that attach to spring hook up to dishwasher door, so I only utilized one part from the kit.

1. Removing the dishwasher from counter-top by unscrewed two screws.

2. Slide out the dishwasher out from counter-top space.

3. Took out the broken plastic part, and hook spring to new part.

4. Using plier to pull spring and attach the plastic part to the door.

5. Testing that the door is working okay, push the washer back in place and screw to secure.

The plastic peice of the door balance kit, on the door side, snapped off and the rope broke.
Pulled the water line off because i needed to pull the dishwasher out so I could get access to the parts I needed to change. Pulling the line off was actually the only difficult part of the whole job. The part itself took about 5 minutes to install.

Door would not stayed closed enough for dishwasher to run through full cycle and door would just drop to the floor when opened!
When I received parts I was worried because they looked a bit different than what I had. Not to worry the parts worked perfectly and in less than 15 minutes I was back in business. Thanks Part Select

broken nylon cord door hinge.
The part came pronto. The actual repair was fairly easy, but pulling the dishwasher out it is another story. I replaced the water supply copper pipe by a flexible braided hose. It looks like this is a common problem for these dishwashers.

Door balance cord broke on one side
The kit came with two new cords and two new re-designed pulleys that should make this problem not happen again. I am really glad I used the kit. My local parts house wanted $25 for just one cord. For less money, I was able to repair both sides with cords and replace the original pulleys that caused the failure in the first place!

I was fortunate that the original installation left enough slack for supply, drain, and electrical so that I could pull the DW out about a foot beyond the cabinets. This gave me plenty of room.

Piece of Plastic Junk Broke On The Dishwasher Door
Hey, I just want to say thanks for having the parts. The repair was so simple my husband (he never fixes things) did it before I even walked into the room. Sure beats calling a repair guy and paying the $75-$100 minimum. He just unscrewed the dishwasher from the counter, looked at the other side to find out where to attach the part to the spring, and did it.
Again, thanks for having the parts.

Broken doorspring link
I really appreciate this feature of this website. The inappropriate part photo had me wondering if I had the wrong part, but the repair descriptions made it clear that it was what I was seeking.

I'll do *anything* to avoid unhooking cables and hoses under a counter. Turns a half hour job into a multi-day leak chase. So... do this job per all the other posts. But pull the unit out only as far as the cables and hoses allow. You can do this. Really. Lie prone in front of the unit and handle the (fallen and disconnected) spring with a hand you've threaded through from the center.

Door fell upon opening, no springs
I could see a broken cord connecting the door to one of the springs, ordered the replacement parts kit, and followed the instructions to replace both sides. The replacement was simple, but removing the dishwasher required some creative work to free the flanges holding the unit behind the cabinet face. The feed line compression fitting leaked, requiring me to cut and replace with a new fitting. However, the replacement parts worked perfectly for a great price.

Door falls open
A big thanks to others that shared their story. The tips were very helpful.
I pulled the dishwasher part way out and found that mine had coper plumbing to the water supply routed under by sink. I disconnected the water supply and then pulled the dishwasher the rest of the way out (the wiring had plenty of slack). Reconnected the spring to the frame of the dishwasher and attahed the link to the spring. Attached vicegrips to the spring and pulled the spring out far enough to route the other end of the link through the pulley and connect it.
If I have to do it again, it will take only ten minutes.

Door had no tension
The hardest part of the repair was removing and installing the dishwasher from under the countertop. Once it was out the cable link on the left side (looking from the front) was broken. You'll need visegrips to pull the spring to the cable end (which is really nylon rope). I replaced both sides because they were inexpensive and I noticed they were made different than the old ones. Piece of cake once the dishwasher was out.

Easy repair
It took more time to take the two screws holding the top of the dishwasher in and to roll it out than it took to fix the door cable link.

Easy job for anyone who can use a screw driver and a pair of pliers
