The function of the run capacitor is to help the compressor turn on and off while maintaining a constant temperature in your freezer. If you notice that your refrigerator or freezer is too warm, you may have to replace the run capacitor. This part is 1-1/2 inches in length and is made of black plastic with two metal prongs which connect to a wiring harness. The run capacitor is in the back of the refrigerator and is mounted to the condenser fan motor bracket with a 1/4-inch screw.
