The ice maker was corroded and didn't make ice.
Getting the old ice maker out was not difficult - it sits on a small ridge built into the freezer and then it takes three screws to attach it to the side of the refrigerator. Three important things to remember: (1) take off the metal bar that shuts off the ice maker from the old part, the new part doesn't come with the bar; (2) keep the screws and the cap from the old ice maker as they don't come with the replacement part either; and (3) make sure you put the water tube back into the holder otherwise it will pour all over the freezer (and not into the ice tray).

Ice maker not producing ice & ice door not closing
After receiving the parts to repair the ice door, I replaced the solenoid and new chute door without problem. Then a problem I had been experiencing for well over a year, re-emerged. No Ice! I realized the icemaker was old, over 12 years and that the Teflon within the wells as well as the contacts for the timer were well worn. The ease of finding parts and the instructions provided by PartSelect, (written, video and users), I would attempt the replacement of the Ice Maker. When I examined the Freezer, I also identified that the Ice Maker shelf and enclosure (where the auger that drives the ice) was broken and barely hanging in place. I quickly identified the additional parts and ordered them. The total repair took about 60 minutes. and was treated to the sound of ice dropping into the bin by early evening. I am very pleased with the service, the quality of the products and the helpful hints from fellow users. I have added PartSelect to my IE favorites and it will be my first stop when I need repairs for any of my appliances.

ice maker stopped making ice and water was running into the freezer compartment
I wasn't sure about the part I needed so I called the service number, they help me decide on the correct parts for my unit. This was the easiest repair I've ever done. One hex head screw and one clip in electrical connection and we were done. It took less than 5 minutes and now it works like new, no more leaking water and plenty of ice.

Refrig ran and ran with a lot of hot air coming from the back. Temps in freezer and refrig areas would fluctuate with the unit running almost constantly. Discovered the fan was intermittently running, mostly not.
Removed the old fan; cut the wire and spliced in the new fan and reassembled. A little over one hour. Refrig is working perfectly now with lower settings. It is definitely off much more than on now.

Old Unit Was Leaking.
I simply followed the online instructions. Easiest repair job I have done. Once installed, which took about ten minutes, it was producing ice in less than two hours and is performing as it should. Had my frig not been a bottom freezer the installation would have taken less than five minutes. And to let everyone know, the on line instructions came in very handy during the removal process. Many thanks.

The Ice machine was leaking.
I ordered the replacement parts on line and received it a few days later. Thought I'd wait till the weekend to install the new parts. I expected it to take longer so I waited. Boy was I wrong. The hardest part was unloading the top shelf of the freezer. And it took longer to go get the nutdriver. I should have put it in immediately. Thanks for the instructional video. Works like a dream NO LEAKS. Will use your services on other parts as needed. Don from Pittsubrgh, PA.

The ice maker stopped making ice & leaked
I discovered that the water inlet was freezing, then the incoming water would run into the tray. I watched the video, then removed the ice maker. I discovered the the top two screwed just had to be loosened, not removed. I removed the bottom screw and move the ice maker to the side to disconnect the wiring harness. I found it to hard to disconnect. The pinch clips did not depress as they were supposed to, but the finally release. I did the replace without unplugging the refrigerator and it went fine. Took less than 15 minutes.

Old ice maker hanging up
I removed and inspected the old unit and found the tray coating was flaking off. I ordered the new ice maker on line, One screw and rotate unit counter clockwise about 10 degrees unlocked it from the two snap in mounts. then unplugged the wire harness and it was free. Had to put the short wire harness on new unit, reverse removal steps and it is completed and working fine.
