ignitor would glow but oven. would not turn on
unplug oven . removed v-shaped plate on bottom of oven .after i removed racks. 15 min.not including getting tools and after research on Partsselect videos. removed mounting clip/gaurd holding igniter in bottom back side of cavity, held by small screw. removed bottom storage drawer on bottom of oven door.once removed had access to protective shield held on by two sctews. Almost all the way to the bottom back of range . unclipped wires coming fr. igniter .pulled out igniter fr. oven and removed mounting/protective casing. Installation should be in reverse order ,but in the attempt to install mounting clip back on igniter ,the element broke. so it's very fragile. being on a budget or no budget at all i''ll have to wait for a few more months again to be able to get a new one..REMEMBER-- very fragile and no warning labels........hope it saves you time and $$$

Oven igniter would glow, but not light oven
I removed the door, bottom cover (inside oven) and flame spreader. I had to remove the screws around the pan in order to remove it as well, and the burner (pipe?) The replacement part is amazingly fragile, and a touch on the tile caused it to break, necessitating a trip to an older appliance store for another igniter. This replacement came with a female plug in the connector, which wouldn't work with the one in the oven, but fortunately I was able to use the wire from the original and the ceramic wire nuts that came with the replacement. The part from PartSelect would have been an exact replacement. Make sure that the burner pipe fits over the nozzle on the bottom or the fire will start in the back of the oven instead of inside.

Broken Hinges On Oven Door.
I had already removed the old hinges by removing the screws/bolts and removing the broken hinges from the back side through the drawer below the oven that I had already removed. Took the new hinges and screwed the two metal screws into the top hole on the new hinges after placing hinge in vise, one screw on each then removed them and placed them to the side. Determined the right tap from my tap set, and then tapped the bottom two holes on the new hinges, one on each. Placed the bolts that came with the new hinges into the holes I had just tapped, screw them in, then I removed them and placed to the side. Took hinges and bolts / screws to the oven, inserted hinges in through the drawer that I had removed up to each side where hinges would come back out to the front of the oven. Placed screws / bolts one at a time through oven door frame into the hinge on the back side, and then threaded them into the hinges and tightened. Replaced oven door onto new hinges and checked for correct operation. Door works like new.

I used the instructions that were online at the PartSelect website. Perfect instructions. It took longer to clean the unit than installing the new paart. The instructions that came with the part were not that useful. Thanks to PartSelect, my wife is now happy.

Igniter went out
The igniter was giving us problems then it went out completely. Changing it was a snap had to lay on the floor and get into an awkward position. But only four screws. I was worried that the plug in would not work and I would have to wire nut it. But nope plugged right in.

Burner wouldn't light. Spark occuring below the burner head between it and the electrode.
Remove two phillips screws, lift the burner head up and remove the wire from the electrode. DO NOT DROP THE WIRE!!! It will fall into the stove top, adding much more time and frustration to this very simple repair. Reverse these steps to complete the repair.

oven would not light
after research and diagnosis I determined the igniter to be defective. Even though it glowed red the resistance needed for the "brain" in the oven was too low. This did not let the gas valve open. I removed the floor plate in the oven and removed the screws fastening the igniter. The wire harness plug was in the back of this oven so I fished it out of a hole and unplugged it. I tied a string to the plug(igniter end) and pulled out the unit. fastened the string to the new igniter plug and pulled it out of the back and plugged it in. Reversed the disassembly and ... DONE

Gas took very long to turn on and failed to reach set temperature
Set masonite under feet, removed drawer, and pulled unit out from wall. Disconnected electric and turned off gas supply at wall. Reached in where drawer was and disconnected 2-wire igniter connector. In oven, removed cover in bottom by sliding it off, then undid center bolt on V shaped plate covering igniter and burner. Undid 3 screws holding igniter bracket and pulled through the disconnected wire harness. Removed igniter from bracket carefully as it was held in quite tightly. Carefully slid new igniter in bracket, fed wire in back and replaced 3 screws holding in igniter. Reconnected wire under unit, replaced V plate. Turned on power and gas, tested and gas lit right away. Reassembled the rest and pushed it back against wall.

Lower Bake Ignitor would glow, but would not ignite flame.
First, my wife and I pulled out the oven from wall to disconnect electric plug and, also with a wrench; I shut off the gas connection on the wall. I then removed front door of the oven by pulling up on door to have easy access to lower part of oven, and then removed pan to get to Igniter. Removed the three screws on cage that supported the Igniter and, I also had to remove several screws to the manifold and bottom pan that supports the manifold so that I could disconnect Igniter. I then was able to pull out old Igniter and, reconnect the new one. After that, I reinstalled everything in reverse. Before pushing oven back into wall; we made sure the new igniter worked. It worked just great. My wife and I were so happy and proud that we done it our self, and not have to call someone to do it for us. It took me and, my wife about an hour and a half to complete the job. I believe the reason it took us as long as it did was because we really didn't know what to expect. Now that we know; I am sure that we could do it again in 30 to 45 minutes. Dave & Marsha; 8/23/2013
