Quick fix for nagging No ice/bucket freezing up problems
It worked Great! The part did seem to resolve the problems with no ice being produced and the bucket freezing up to the point you couldnt even remove it. After defrosting and being able to remove the bucket you could see damage to the cylindrical plastic part at the very end of the auger. Auger seemed fine as did the bucket. Seems crazy to not be able to just replace the plastic piece but the wife is now happy! Only had to insert the new bucket/auger assembly after washing/drying it thoroughly and then turning back on the ice maker and it started to make ice and hasnt had it stop since! Packaging left alot to be desired as the box was dented/ripped because of the odd shaped bucket it really needed more packing inside to keep it from collapsing and rattlling around inside the box. But no cracks in the piece and we now have ice! Yay!

Has the manufacturer improved or changed the plastic blade on the auger of the ice maker? This will be the third time this part has had to be replaced. This is a very inexpensive part, but the entire assembly must be purchased. $142.67 is robbery when the entire assembly is not needed. The replacement auger should not be more than $30.00 - $40.00. I am not a pleased customer.

Hello Mike, thank you for your question. Yes, the manufacturer has improved the auger in this bucket assembly. The auger is now metal, not plastic. The newer updated part number is WPW10324090. Please contact us if the previous order was placed through us, as we have a 1 year warranty this part. If the previous part, that has broken again, was ordered through us, we will replace it. The lock to open the ice bin is broke as well as the auger. How do i remove the ice bin with a broke lock. I have a new ice bin assembly unit; but, i am not able toremove the old unit. Do i just crack it with a hammer and disassemble it? Help!!

Can I buy the auger unit only? The propeller (?) on the auger has one of the two blades broken off.

The ice bucket and auger assembly unit has a metal rod that open the chute the spring on my unit appears broken will this keep it from making ice

I ordered and just received this bin with auger and thought it was an updated one with a metal auger. I had read elsewhere that that was the case. It is plastic like the old one which broke. Is one available with a metal auger?
