Pried out the old switch with small screwdriver, popped in the new one and tah-dah!! ..the light came on. While I was at it, I cleaned out the freezer :). I cannot begin to imagine what a repairman would have charged for this.

I did not do the repair my husband did but it only took him 20 minutes and it was done. I am especially thrilled with the fact that the part came the very next day without paying for extra postage. Thank you for your quick response. In fact I ordered a filter for the same fridge the same day from a different parts place and it still has not arrived and its been more than 10 days. Guess who gets my business in the future for appliance repairs.

Parts arrived in less than 2 days. Installation was easy. The only tricky part was removing the Temperature/Humidity control from the old part. A little "bending" of the plastic is necessary to remove the slide mechanism. After that, it was quite easy.

Took off (by removing sockets)each side of existing pantry end caps and put new ones on Should have taken picture of the right side as it was a little problem getting everything back together. Paid $200.50 to have it done the first time it broke. Basically saved $200 doing it ourselves.

I removed the upper crisper drawers. I then removed the bottom crisper drawer. I then removed plate glass covering that covered the bottom crisper drawer. I removed the plate glass frame in order to be able to get to the 3 screws holding right hand rail. I removed the 3 screws with nut driver to remove rail. I detached the humidity control linkage and linkage cover from right hand rail. I reinstall every thing in reverse of how I had just taken things apart when installing new right hand rail. There was a lot of good information on how to replace rails that came with rail order. also there was a lot of good information on iste where part was ordered from. THANKS

Water was dripping into ice bin as long as icemaker was activated (bar lowered)

  • Customer: Derek from Murphy TX
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Time to Complete: 15 - 30 mins
  • Tools Required: Screw drivers

Based on comments I read at this web site, I first ordered the water valve; that did not fix the problem. Replacing the icemaker did fix the problem. It was easy to replace. Contrary to the instructional video, I couldn't simply tilt out the icemaker at the bottom after removing the lower screww; I had to loosed the two top screws as well. The leak was caused the coating on the icemaker being cracked and peeling.

The right side door of our Jenn Air french door refrigerator would pop open and stay open (just) when the left door was closed. I ordered a new door closure and bushing-d for the door. As it turns out the existing bushing was broken but I replaced both anyway since I was in there. First I removed the plastic hinge cap which is held on by one phillips head screw. Then used a nut driver to remove the hinge itself and pulled the door up and off after removing the internal shelves which pop right off. I laid the door on a blanket on the floor and hung a towel over the opening where the door was to try to save some cool. I pulled out the existing bushing-d and inserted the new one. I replaced the door closure and applied grease, then put the whole thing back together. It works good as new! Doors close properly I wish I had done it sooner!

Upper frige getting warmer and evaporater freezing up, replaced heater element, thermister, and then replaced control board and is working great. was not going into defrost mode due to bad board. I could put in to manual defrost mode needed to replace the board.

first unplug unit, remove clear light cover it snaps out. there are 2 slots on either side of the light housing stick the screw driver in the slot and push the tab and pull down this will unlatch the control board housing, remove the board socket plugs, and the board from the frame, on the new board you will have to snap the PC board at the pre indented line. replace in reverse and follow instruction to program the code.

My husband removed the crisper storage drawers and the shelf then removed the pantry drawer. The broken end cap was very easy to remove, just remove two screws and the new one was installed. Simple and my husband really enjoyed saving $2400! That was what a new one would have cost if he could not have replaced the part!

ice maker not making ice

  • Customer: George from Sedona AZ
  • Difficulty: Really easy
  • Time to Complete: Less than 15 mins
  • Tools Required: Nutdriver

I watched the video which gave me confidence that I could do the repair which I did in very little time. One thing to emphasize though: When you remove the vertical wire connector from the back of the freezer compartment, remember which color wire is on the top. I needed to watch the repair video a second time to be able to make that determination. Probably the repair video should have mentioned keeping track of that connector regarding the re-connection of it because it could also connect when turned 180 degrees.

Ice Maker wouldn't make Ice

  • Customer: Michael from Ventura CA
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Time to Complete: 30 - 60 mins
  • Tools Required: Nutdriver
  • 0 of 0 people found this instruction helpful
I watched a youtube video and completed the repair in less than an hour from start to finish and save myself a service charge. It was fairly easy, the only problem was that it was a bottom freezer and getting to the ice maker was harder than if it was a side by side or top freezer.
