Latch handle broken, miserable to open and close
First, I was blown away by the speed at which the part arrived. Kudos! The quality is exceptional. The repair itself is extremely straightforward. If you are not the handy type, it's still simple, but please shut off the breaker to ensure no power is going to the dishwasher.

I used a power screwdriver fitted with a T-20 Torx bit and unscrewed all the screws holding the inner door liner on. The handle is held in place by the center two screws at the top of the door. Once the screws were removed, I propped the inner panel up with a short PVC tube (anything non-conductive and about 6" long will work fine). I pulled the old handle out, noting which color wires went to which side of the handle. Note the power connectors are firmly attached due to the inward angle of the power leads on the switch. This makes them seem difficult to remove. They are not. Do NOT use pliers or other tools, you risk crushing the power connectors! Firmly grasp the connector and pull straight back, wiggling it slightly if needed. When the connector is free, immediately attach it to the correct side of the new handle. Unless you've shut the power off, these leads are LIVE. Pay attention to what you're doing. Once both connectors have been transferred to the new handle, position the handle correctly, ensuring the screw holes line up with the inner panel. Insert these two screws first but do not snug them down. Insert the rest of the screws, ensuring the inner panel is properly seated and all the screws line up correctly and are not cross-threaded. Tighten down all the screws and you're back in business.

My wife and I have both noted, as others here have, that this replacement handle feels significantly better than the original.

The repair is very straightforward, quick, and easy. Enjoy!

Latch handle broke off and we could barely unlatch door
Remove about 8 torx screws on inside door panel. Prop panel to hold door open. Disconnect power from dishwasher (I did not realize I was getting entire latch assembly including switches). Old latch assembly comes right off since it is secure with panel screws. Using a flat head, carefully pry electrical connectors from switches; I would remove one and immediately connect it on the new assembly so I would not get them mixed up. Reposition new assembly on door. Put panel back in place and replace screws. Door may "pop" when closed but that is just the panel snapping back in place. Restore power to dishwasher. Test door latch. Voila!

the latch handle on my dishwasher broke one night
Ifirst tried to get a replacement from Maytag.com. Bad mistake, all they list are recommended service centers. but my son went on your website and found the part in 30 seconds! So I went ahead and placed the order.
Replacing the handle was real easy. after unplugging the dishwasher, I just removed the 9 or so screws from tthe back cover using a cordless screwdriver. Then i simply transferred the 2 electrical connections from the old handle to the new handle and reattached the back cover. Took less than 5 minutes. Probably saved over a hundred bucks doing it myself since a serviceman would have charged that much to replace the busted handle.
Next time I get another busted appliance, I'll make sure to make your website my first stop for spare parts. Thanks a lot!

broken latch/handle assembly
After receiving the latch assembly, which arrived rather quickly, I found the handle itself was not enclosed in the package. Therefore this repair was delayed and after several calls to the 1-800 number I was informed the company had discontinued the distrubution of the handle. They offered a full refund, however I'm still waiting for the return labels so as to ship the latch back.

Now on the brighter side, the company representative put me in touch with a local distributor that did carry the latch/handle assembly as one piece and for a lot less money.

For those who are attempting the repair, don't worry, It was very simple. Just remove hex screws, lift the inside panel, unplug the two connectors and insert the new assemply.

Must say my wife was very happy to have the dishwasher up and running again.

Good luck !

the plastic handle broke, door wouldn't open without pulling it hard.
We took the inner door panel off (about 12 screws), then took the 2 sensors off the old latch and put them on the new one then reassembled the door. The only problem I have now is that once I empty the dishwasher the sensor doesn't re-set to show the dishes are no longer clean.

Broken door Latch
Removed all the screws holding the inside panel of the door to the door itself. Lifted out the old broken door latch. Pulled the wire clips from the 2 switches located on either side if the door Latch assembly. This is a bit difficult. You have to keep working the wire clips back & forth; Up & down until the clips are free from the switch metal contacts. Reinstall the wire clips on the new door Latch assembly making sure you attach the black wires and white wires on the same side of the new latch assembly as on the one removed. Replace the new latch assembly aligning the mounting holes on the door with the new latch holes. Replace the inside panel aligning the holes and replace the screws. The screws were the star head type so you need a special driver bit. I used the box the latch came in the prop up the inside door panel while I worked.

Handle broken on dishwasher
Removed 12 screws holding down the interior door. Pried interior door off. Removed old handle assembly. Pulled electric leads off of old relays and put on new relays. Inserted the assembly into the door and positioned lining up the screw holes. Screwed interior door panel back on. Things to watch for. The stainless steel interior door panel is very sharp. I cut my thumb deeply when trying to separate the interior door panel from the door. I suggest you wear kevlar gloves when doing this or just be very careful. Also the electric leads are on very tightly. I had to use a pliers to get them off of the old relays. The new assembly must be lined up with the screw holes before screwing the interior door panel back on. Very simple repair.

Latch broke and dishwasher would not work
I removed the screws around the inside of the dishwasher then disassembled the old latch assembly. This part was a little hard just because I had to get some needlenose pliers to pull it apart. The new latch assembly was better made and slid right into place. I screwed the inner door back into place and it took a few minutes for the dishwasher to start up. Once it did it has run great ever since! This has been a great site to have as being a single mom, budget is tight and to pay a $75 service fee is out of the question.
